Rams OC Favorite for Browns HC Job

    Rotoworld ()

According to SI's Peter King, Rams OC Pat Shurmur is the "leader in the clubhouse" for the Browns' head coaching job.
A second-year offensive coordinator, Shurmur runs the West Coast offense club president Mike Holmgren will more fully implement in 2011, and has a history of quality quarterback coaching with Sam Bradford, Donovan McNabb, Kevin Kolb. Losing Shurmur could be a blow to Bradford. The Browns will also interview Marty Mornhinweg once the Eagles' postseason is over.
W2B must love that if he's hired, Spags gets to bring in Bradford's second coorindator in as many years.

Shurmur sucks, most fans want him fired, I can't believe he's drawing HC interest. Hopefully he gets the job, and takes his plethora of 6-yard curl routes with him.

Oh, and Steven Jackson had 11 carries last week, in the most important game the frabchise has played in 6 years. Fuck Shurmur.

Why do the Browns want Shurmur? I don't get it. If there's one guy that has caught a lot of heat this year in St. Louis, it's Shurmur. The Seattle game was the icing on the cake.

He must have noods of Holmgren or something.

Shurmur never worked for Holmgren, but his father Fritz was Holmgren's DC early on during the GB run (Fritz was the Rams DC under John Robinson, too). Shurmur woker for Andy Reid for years, so he's part of the whole Holmgren/Reid wco tree. Nobody in STL would miss him.

I can't believe I'm saying this, Mornhinweg might be better.

I never would have expected him to ever be a head coaching candidate.
