Yeah, it does seem as if all of these bowl games are beginning to lose their luster with people.

this game sucked. newton shouldnt have been in there. Auburn shouldnt have been there. The 37 day layoff is a joke....ncaa is a joke....the bcs is a joke....the greedy bowl chairmans are a joke...not having a playoff is a joke.

i have lost all interest in college football

        1. We need a playoff.

        2. Great game. Lotsa defense.

        3. I fell asleep in the third quarter, though, so IDK what happened after that.

        4. Imma watch the rest of it in a little bit.

What I did find interesting is that some of the SEC teams had no problem handling Auburn's defense during the season. Arkansas shredded Auburn with their backup QB. And here comes Oregon with allegedly one of the most high-powered offenses in NCAA history, and they get manhandled by Auburn's defense.

Oregon definitely got outcoached...Auburn just crashed everyone inside and said to hell with read-and-react...and besides a couple option plays in the 1st half and the early throwback screen pass for a TD, Oregon kept trying to run plays up the middle or off-tackle. Retarded.

That said, I thought the game was an interesting matchup and enjoyable.

I think a lot of it is the month long lay off between games for these teams. They aren't coming out fresh at all and the average fan's interest seems to kind of fall off after new year's day. This is just more ammo for the playoff argument because teams would be playing at a higher level and obviously interest levels would be off the charts. Having a massive gap affects fan interests and how well teams are going to play.

There were some key defensive plays, but for the most part both teams were well over 400 total yards with Auburn being over 500 yards.

I think alot of people saw the score and some of the key defensive stops on 4th and short and the score but it really wasn't a defensive stalemate but any means. Both teams also had over 20 first downs.

It was a pretty entertaining game. It had a little of everything. Some nice trick plays, some nice defensive stops, some good hits.
