PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles have hired longtime Titans assistant Jim Washburn to be their defensive line coach.

Washburn spent 12 seasons as the defensive line coach with Tennessee. He replaces Rory Segrest, who was fired last week along with defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.

Washburn had five players earn 10 trips to the Pro Bowl during his tenure with the Titans. Over the last 12 years, the Titans ranked seventh in the NFL in sacks (474), and fifth against the run.

Best DL coach in football and frankly the only coach other than OL coach Mike Munchak who is worth a shit in Tennessee anymore. He's taken numerous no-name players and turned them into Pro Bowlers. This year he took Jason Babin to the Pro Bowl after he posted more sacks this season than he did his whole career.

Eagles are now the leaders to land Albert Haynesworth if he is traded from Washington.

I think you'll see a much more motivated Haynesworth if he goes to Philly. You have no idea how much Washburn gets out of his guys and how great of a job he does.

Brandon Graham is going to be a monster next season under Washburn, guaranteed.

They could cut him so they don't have to deal with the headache anymore.

Besides, we know the Eagles and Redskins aren't afraid to do a trade inside the division.

Oh, and this is another reason why Jeff Fisher should have been fired. It's a lame duck season for Fisher and unless he pulls a 10-6 out of his ass, he'll be gone more than likely. Why keep him for this...and if they do draft a QB, he'll have to learn a different system his second year.

The only reason that makes sense anymore is the CBA issue.
