2011 Pro Football Hall of Fame Finalists

Sorry if there's a thread on this somewhere, but I'm too lazy to look right now. Anyhoo, the class is announced tomorrow. Let's have a little last minute discussion. Who do you guys think will get in? Who do you think deserves to be in (or doesn't)?

    The Finalists (Alphabetical):

    Jerome Bettis

    Tim Brown

    Cris Carter

    Dermontti Dawson

    Richard Dent

    Chris Doleman

    Marshall Faulk

    Charles Haley

    Chris Hanburger

    Cortez Kennedy

    Curtis Martin

    Andre Reed

Les Richter (LB/K from the 50s & 60s - that position combo alone might be enough to get him in)

    Willie Roaf

    Ed Sabol (created NFL Films)

    Deion Sanders

    Shannon Sharpe

Remember, the rules dictate that no less than 4 must get in, but no more than 7.

Without thinking too awfully hard I'd go with:

    Dawson
    Faulk
    Roaf
    Sabol
    Sanders
    Sharpe

Twist my arm to take a WR & I go with Carter to make it a full 7.

    Your thoughts?

2 of the top 5 rushing leaders all time in this class, Curtis probably isn't getting in though.

My guess as to who will get in:

                Sanders
                Carter
                Sharpe
Richter (they usually put in the senior nominee)
                Sabol
                Faulk
Finally back after a 3 year hiatus!

Hmmm...thought I'd see more love for Dawson.

Roaf is the only egregious snub IMO.

I would expect Roaf, Carter, Bettis, and Brown to get in next season.

Yeah, definitely, they are each worthy of selection though I couldn't say I'd take any of them over the ones inducted this year.

I was pleasantly surprised that Hanburger got in. He was one of the best OLBs in NFL history, and he was very durable and a big play guy. Kind of like the Junior Seau of his era. I don't think that Richter deserved the HOF...there are other defensive players from the 1950's like Gene Brito and Jack Butler that are probably more deserving. Dent was the third surprise, but he was a very good player who was effective against the run and pass.
