    Rams release safety O.J. Atogwe

    An $8 million roster bonus was deemed too much for the Rams to pay in order to keep safety O.J. Atogwe.

    St. Louis opted to release the safety on Friday rather than pay the bonus due to him on Feb. 21. The Rams, who had placed the franchise tag on Atogwe in the past, signed the 29-year-old to a five-year, $32 million deal last June.

    Atogwe is engaged to the daughter of Hall of Fame Bears linebacker and ex-49ers coach Mike Singletary. The six-year pro out of Stanford can negotiate and sign with any team.

      Jaguars have ample money to sign him. It just makes too much damn sense for them to actually sign him. He is better than anyone we have.

              O.J Atogwe is from my hometown, which is only a small river away from Detroit... Hopefully, The Lions can use that to their advantage....

                          Rams did the same thing last year to screw him out of a bonus. The difference, is last year it happened so late that nobody had cap space left to sign him.

                          He's a great playmaker, to bad Spags doesn't appreciate him. Rams are loaded with cap space.
