    Saints Cut Jeremy Shockey

Is the guy done as an impact receiver?

He ended his Giants career on crutches, watching them win the Super Bowl. He went on to win a second Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Maybe he can be a good luck charm for wherever he goes next.

He'll find a team... hell maybe he'll go back to New York and light a fire under Boss's ass. But chances are a team like Buffalo will sign him.

I think Shockey can still be a reliable receiver. It's not his fault that Jimmy Graham is a beast and made him expendable.

That is what happens when you have a team that makes good draft decisions. The young guys eventually work the veterans out of a job. It also didn't help that the Saints have so many other receiving options.

There certainly won't be any shortage of teams looking to sign him though. Anyone looking for a big receiver at tight end should look at Shockey.

I like this. Would they be Super Bowl contenders? I sort of doubt it, but they could sell some tickets if they bring back Shock-Plax.

id have no problem with it. we could use the help considering how our receiving core was so decimated with injuries last year that the illiterate Mario Manningham was our number 1 guy for a few games.

also, since Plax left there has been a steady decline in the Giants' performance. coincidence?

nothing, but i dont think any team wants their 3rd receiver to end up being their main guy due to injury of the first two.

I'm sure he'll have a lot of choices after playing for the Mean Machine the last 2 years.

Well not a lot, but he will have choices. Being in jail for shooting yourself on accident is going to scare teams away. Well it will scare some, but there are teams that will take him if they think he will help the team.

Not only that but the feeling is that the chances of Burress going back to the Giants is a long shot.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports free agent TE Jeremy Shockey "took and passed" a physical for the Dolphins Thursday.
The Titans may not be interested, but both sides are tangoing in Miami despite GM Jeff Ireland's statements to the contrary earlier in the day. The match doesn't make much sense beyond Shockey's fame and a reputation for college success in South Florida a decade ago. That may be enough to get Shockey into a Dolphins uniform for 2011. He's not an upgrade on Anthony Fasano at this point in his career.
