Peter King: 1st Rounder on the Table for Kevin Kolb

Michael Vick returns to prison, lockout update, Kevin Kolb rumors - Peter King - SI.com

I like Kolb more than most people here, but a first rounder is pretty steep. Do you guys think he's being completely overvalued, or does this speak to the lack of talented young QB's out there in the draft?

A first rounder for a guy who will be 27 years old and have started 7 NFL games?

    Not sure.

Would Minnesota be willing to do that if they're intending to go QB? Otherwise, I can't see a team doing it unless they can trade back into the second half of the first round and move the pick.

Really? I guess Matt didn't fall back in favor with the organization with his playoff win huh?

Whenever Hassel posts in a thread, when I'm scrolling down to the bottom to reply or read on further, I inevitably get stuck on his Lynch signature and waste 30 seconds watching Tracy Porter get facepalmed over & over.

Now I've forgotten the exact words I was going to use to call Kevin Kolb over-rated.

Eh.. wouldn't say that, I just think our FO is exploring all options at QB. Not to mention Hasselbeck will be 36 this season (if there is a season) .. so looking at Kolb as a long term solution makes a lot of sense especially when you consider what QB's will be available at the 25th pick.

In the end - I doubt Kolb becomes a Seahawk, but who knows.. they've been interested in him since last year supposedly.

Seattle's interest would explain Reid looking for higher picks from other teams.

Whatever team it is the Eagles should jump on it regardless. A first rounder? yes, please.

                  I don't think a 1st round pick is that high a price.
Kolb is going to be a star for some team.
I'd take Kolb over every 1st round QB prospect in this draft.

Difference between Kolb and draft picks is Kolb has stepped on an NFL field and done some nice things already, they haven't. So while him being 27 seems to make some of you guys wonder, it's a way safer play for a team to go with Kolb. At the very least he's not going to be a bust, while any draft pick could easily be.

Except the problem is you guys are giving Kolb way too much credit (especially you dave, a star???). He's really not that good lol.

you've got a much better shot having a successful season with kevin kolb than you would any other first round quarterback in this years draft, especially because he's already been coached for a number of years in how to run the west coast offense by one of the better qb coaching staffs. if you are a team like seattle, instead of bringing in a guy to run your new system and having to teach him everything, Reid has already done that for you.

and as far as the age thing, Rodgers was almost 25 before he got a real shot, Pennington was 26, and... well you get the idea. it would be different if Kolb was over 30.

Where else can a team find a QB that will put up a 73.2 QB rating?? That is easily worth a 1st round pick in my book.
