Les Miles' sister dies in car accident

ADDIS, La. -- The sister of LSU football coach Les Miles has died in a car accident near Baton Rouge.

Addis assistant police chief David Jones said 54-year-old Ann Hope Browne, of Zachary, was attempting to merge onto Louisiana Highway 1 on Friday when her car was struck in the driver's side by a pickup truck.

West Baton Rouge Parish coroner's investigator Yancy Guerin said Browne was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said two adults and four children in the truck escaped injury.

Sports information director Michael Bonnette said the university is declining to comment.

i was going to say the same thing. while its sad to hear, its not really news. media has just become so blown out of proportion that every little thing is a story.

It's a combination of him being a prominent figure and it being slow news period for college football. It's a terrible tragedy to be sure, but I tend to agree. I think even Les himself would say that he'd rather this have not been covered nationally.
