    3 things I learned from Round 1.

    1. Apparently the NFL is ok with agent handouts and loans or the draft is now sponsored by Jacob the jeweler who mandates rookies wear these while crying on the phone.

    2. Any NFL rookie with vision problems spent all there money on watches and could only afford nerdy medicaid frames.

    3. Having every fuckin possible first round pick in the building sucks ass.
I dont want to see these fucktards crying like babies on phone ruining the entire point of having the commish go up there and make the announcement.
Give me highlights , give me a shot of men in suits posturing in a war room.
Give me projections ,trade possibilities , oh and MORE HIGHLIGHTS.
Have the top 10 picks go up there and give me the occasional shot of the player who losing millions with every passing pick as he realizes his agent lied his ass off.
Noone cares about the phone call. Noone cares about the family.

    Somewhere Brett Favre laughs.

Agents spending money on players before they're drafted isn't new. I'm sure most guys who train at these combine preparation facilities go on their agent's dime. I'm not shocked that agents are also paying for clothes and jewelry for the guys attending the draft (i.e. potential 1st rounders) since they probably consider it a worthy investment.

        Agreed.

I like the red cups in Favre's picture. I bet Favre did a kegstand after the phone call.

Not saying its new. But its getting ridiculous. You have players bringing in there entire families and flossing on camera on top of "acting" for the cameras. This isnt the Source awards its the NFL draft.

Keep that shit off camera as it has no relevance and it serves to spoil the process of pick selection.

I can't believe MrBill is in that photo. He is the guy in the middle with the gold and navy polo shirt.

i learned the suspense is gone with every pick because they show every guy with the hat on and on the phone before Goodell announces it.

I loved how Goodell handeled the crowd last night.

The days of the war room shots and interviews with team execs are long over. Like most sports related programming these days, its not produced with sports fans in mind. Everything is driven towards casuals.

I gave up on the draft years ago. Its a parade of old, over dressed sobbing black women hugging their overdressed sons/grandsons. Its like standing outside of a church in Harlem after a funeral.

all we can hope for is a rookie salary cap this year so we can see all those agents get burned for the $$$

                            qft.

it makes no sense to me... the casual fan doesnt give a fuck about the draft and all this stuff they are doing to try and attract them is only pissing off the hardcore base that the nfl's popularity was built on.

I agree, but this is a product of the draft becoming a large event and being broadcast on two different networks. It's become a lot of looking good for the cameras.
