Navy in '09 might have been worse all things considered. Almost every offensive drive for ND ended with a turnover, missed FG, or turnover on downs. Not a single punt from the Irish.

            3) most disappointing loss in nd football history?

for me, yes. more disappointing than BC '02. MSU '05. USC '05. a lot of games. that was bad.
            USC '64, Miami '89, BC '93, USC '05.

Disappointing loss yes, but no where near the most disappointing in Irish history, or even my lifetime.

Maybe the weirdest game I have ever watched though.

Floyd is still a stud and this team is still capable of double digit wins.

I wasn't aware many people had this team being undefeated.....

90% chance Rees starts every game for the rest of the year.

Barring an injury or Rees playing horrible I'd say it's 100%.

That is basically the 10 percent. Rees still looks like a 300 pounder would break him in two.

I've been a fan of Brian Kelly for a while... but he lost me yesterday with his blowups on the sideline.

I love Kelly blowing up on the team.

Despite the haters, the team is BCS capable. He knows it, and so does the team.

ND outplayed USF for 85% of the game. But the fuckups cost the game. The team needs to be coached hard. The mistakes made were unacceptable for the talent this team has.

The only problem with going hard on the players too much can cause is loss of confidence, but these guys are playing football at ND, I am sure they have never been guys with low self esteem.

I really don't understand how you can make this statement, especially not right now.

They just lost to a team that finished 5th in the Big East last year, that only brought 11 starters back. What did you take out of this game that made you think BCS capable?

Because they only have to finish 8th in the polls to be.

And like I said they outplayed USF for most of the game. If they play without mistakes, which they are capable of doing, they dominate the game. Obviously BCS teams don't make those mistakes and that is really all ND has to do.

For the first time in a long time ND was the much better team and lost. A couple years ago ND would be on the same level as USF. A very even match. If ND doesn't turn the ball over 5 times they cruise to victory. And still they turned the ball over 5 times and only lost by 3. That leads me to believe they are a much better team than years past where they play down to teams like Syracuse and Navy.

Sorry to sound cliche but ND didn't lose to USF. ND beat themselves. And that hasn't been the case for a long time.

                              Typical Notre Dame delusions.
