Patrick Peterson is a cornerback and return specialist from LSU. Peterson played three seasons for the Tigers before forgoing his final season of eligibility to enter the 2011 NFL draft. As a junior, Peterson won the Thorpe and Bednarik awards. Peterson was ranked the No. 1 overall player on Mel Kiper Jr.'s Big Board.

Peterson was drafted fifth overall by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2011 NFL draft.

Ill say that I was VERY excited when PP was still on the board for AZ to scoop up. Him and DRC are going to make a very good combo, along with Adrian and Kerry behind them. Really excited about the Cards Secondary for the 2011 season. Just wish they would get him a jersey number, I dont know why, but I always wonder about stuff like that.

I don't think they're overrated per se, but who's gonna rush the passer? Deion Sanders couldn't cover Rickey Proehl for 5+ seconds with the current rule set.
