Redskins favorites to land Vince Young

The South Florida South-Sentinel "hears" that the Redskins are the front-runners for Vince Young's services this offseason.
Redskins beat writer Rich Tandler has also heard talk of Vince Young in the nation's capital, so the smoke is building here. Due a $4.25 million bonus in addition to his $8.5 million salary, Young is likely to be released rather than traded. The Redskins are one of just two teams with no semblance of a viable starting QB. It's easy to see why V.Y. would be interested in signing on, as it's his quickest path to playing time.

Rex Grossman is a free agent, I guess they plan on moving McNabb, so as of right now John Beck is the starter in Washington. I guess they feel like this head case is better than Beck? Kind of questionable that they didn't draft Gabbert in the 10 spot.

Would you really rather have Beck start over someone like VY, who can win games and likely will come pretty cheap this offseason?

SI's Peter King believes free agent Rex Grossman will take the first snap of the 2011 season for the Redskins.
King appears to be making an educated guess here, not reporting. It's interesting because Grossman has been the subject of trade rumors and speculation from local outlets has John Beck entering camp as the starter. Grossman did start three games for the Skins last year, winning in Jacksonville and narrowly losing to the Cowboys and Giants. The 2003 first-round pick averaged 280 yards per game in those starts while posting seven touchdowns against four interceptions.

98% of Peter King's work is based off him guessing.

                Hence why he sucks ass.

I posted since in the Skins thread, but I figured I should post it here:

Shanahan must think he can salvage any quarterback's career. I still wouldn't consider VY- he's proved he is not mature to handle himself and would be a disruption in Washington. After Haynesworth, we do not need a player like that.

I still think Grossman or Beck start the season as a starter. I think that Snyder is really going to give Allen and Shanahan time to get their system implemented (why else would a change in defense be approved) and this gives time to see what Beck can do, as well as give the Redskins another season in the 3-4 defense.
