lol his defense was pretty good the previous 2 years. His defense is sorta like a bend but don't break style. I hope he does well in Oakland.

EDIT: Those injuries were just there starters. It was funny when there backups got injured too.

The safeties have been a weakness for some time now.

Yeah but John Marshall calling the defense was sort of like having a brand new Ferrari and only driving it 25 mph.

We have a lot of talent on our defense, and Marshall didn't know what the fuck he was doing.

I wouldn't mind keeping him for depth, because by all accounts he is a great locker room guy and a solid leader.. but he definitely should not start next season.

I wouldn't mind seeing us sign Jermaine Phillips though.

In the 2007 season they did okay. Grant was a godsend, and Russell was playing fine for the early part of the season.

I think the bigger reason for the drop in secondary play was how bad our pass rush got. I attribute that to two things.. one Kerney missed most of the season, and two.. (as stated earlier) John Marshall was a complete idiot calling the plays. Even Jim Mora would get pissed off at him all the time last season because his play calling was not using the strengths of our defense .. well.. at all.

It got so bad I would be watching the games with my buddies last year and literally calling the defense before the play happened. And if I can see what's going on.. I am sure the likes of Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb, etc could see that as well.

I am real excited about our new defensive staff.. I think they are leap years better than what we are used to seeing. However, I am worried about Greg Knapp coming over.

Seahawks say they are not going to spend big money in free agency this offseason.

              Seattle Times Article

That's too bad. I was hoping for a solid WR coming to Seattle. If we do get Crabtree and the WR's stay healthy I think we will be a very solid passing team. If we got TJ or Coles on top of Crabtree or as a substitute we could be even better.

What FA's do you guys see Seattle going after?

I still don't think Seattle drafts Crabtree so I'm kind of hoping that we get a cheap WR free agent like Bryant from San Fran

TJ set to visit Seattle today.

Though I posted earlier that Seattle claims to not be a big spender in FA, it looks like the possibility of TJ ending up in Seattle are there. I really do hope this is the case. TJ will be a great target for Hasselbeck and will allow the Hawks to draft that needed O-Lineman or possibly even a defensive player (doubt they go this way) to improve the club further.

Rocky Bernard signs with the Giants. Their will be plenty of bars he can punch his girlfriend in when he hits up the big apple.

We signed Colin Cole to a 5 year deal today.

                      I like the move.

Interesting report from Housh's old teammate John Thornton.

                        West coast won out
                        March 1st, 2009 | NFL

I’m now hearing that TJ to that west coast team is a done deal. Anything can happen before he puts that pen to the contract but as of right now it’s a done deal. So look for this story to officially break soon.

                        Followed shortly thereafter by this..
Damn, the power of the Internet
                        March 1st, 2009 | NFL

Ok, I posted some info on TJ that has pissed some folks off from Cincinnati to Minneapolis. I’m even getting emails from people asking “who the hell am I, where am I getting my info?” I find it pretty funny. There are many reports out there right now. Some say TJ is in Minny touring the facility this morning(which he is), some say he is heading west(which he will be later today). We will see very soon. Let me clarify my earlier report. If Minny lets TJ leave, it’s a done deal. This is very similar to the Bart Scott situation where the Jets had him close to a deal, and then reports surfaced that he gave the Ravens one last shot to get him. Like I said in my “West won out” post, anything can happen before that pen hits the contract. So don’t be mad at me for reporting what I hear. People, remember, this is the Internet, land of rumors and false statements. Maybe the Vikings will catch wind of this story and lock their doors and not let TJ leave without getting a deal done? Who knows. But if you hear reports that TJ has left the building, know his free agent tour is heading to its final stop.

I don't know how you guys feel about it but I hope we do get TJ. He isn't that homerun threat that Galloway used to be for us, but, he is one of the top 10-15 WR in the game.

I'm hearing that Seattle is looking at Sanchez more seriously lately. What do you think of this? It might not be a bad idea. With Matt's health and all.

If it was my choice, my top 4 would be, Monroe, Stafford, Crabtree and Curry. Curry is at 4 just because we dont need him at LB.
