Every QB drafted.
Who will be the biggest draft bust of 2011?

Newton.
Because Carolina fucking blows. He won't be a bust because of his own talent, more so because of what is surrounding him. That team is atrocious. Watching games will be bearable at least in NC with Newton who doesn't fall like a bag of sand like Clausen.Comment

Of 2011? No one.. you can't label a bust after a season.
From this draft? I'd say Cam Newton (Akili Smith II) and Julio Jones (he will be good but nowhere near as good as he should be given what Atlanta gave up to get him).. I'd say Andy Dalton could be a flop as well.Originally posted by ram29jacksonI already said months ago that Seattle wasn't winning any SBComment

There's no way Julio will be a bust, and it's dumb to expect him to put him #1 WR numbers, that's not why Atlanta traded for him. He's the missing piece to the offense (along with Jacquizz) and he'll be our #2 until Roddy hangs it up, which is what fans expect of him.Comment

Though it depends on your meaning of "bust" I guess. I think Julio might be the biggest bust other than Cam Newton. Though I feel like they still have that potential to do just alright in the league- they won't just be great or tank JMarcus style. I think someone who could be great or simply a bust is Von Miller seeing as his size could truly be a problem.Comment

At #6...and for what...2 1st round picks...a 2nd round pick and 2 4th round picks? I expect superstar numbers. If he was simply picked at #6 I'd still expect stellar- 1st string numbers. The Falcons should have just got another guy in the late 1st round if they wanted an above average 2nd stringer.
And make no mistake, Julio will be Atlanta's star #1 receiver for years to come, but at this point with the talent around him it's just dumb to expect #1 WR numbers when we already have Roddy White (who led the NFL in receptions last year) and Tony Gonzalez as well.
The truth of the matter is, The Falcons had to get Matt Ryan another young superstar player on offense to gel with. Roddy White is turning 30 this year and it seems Tony G is in his last year of football this season. Atlanta needed another playmaker to stick with Matt Ryan to build their team around, and Julio Jones will be just that.Comment

Newton 65.4 comp% 2908 yards 30 TDs 7 int 178.2 rating
1586 rush yds 5.6 YPC 24 rush TD
Smith 56.6 comp% 5148 yards 43 TDs 14 int 152.2 rating
367 rush yds 2.1 YPC 6 rush TD
Not even close from a college statistics standpoint or size... how do you see them similar? Too highly drafted black guys? Newton is a clear leader on the field too.Comment

Alright that makes more sense. Though still. That is a ridiculously hefty price for a player who has been known to have some hands problems and when they don't need a weapon just this minute. I am still unsure of his abilities and I think what they gave up is way too much. Especially when considering how the draft will be stacked next year. A lot of talent will still be around later in the 1st round. If Julio Jones was the surest thing of being a superstar in the last couple of years then I think I'd find the Falcon's trade to be a good one.Comment

It was next year's 1st round pick, so just one 1st, one 2nd, and two 4ths. Not two 1sts.
