Yes, you're right. They had a QB who constantly threw interceptions at the most costly of times. Is Christian Ponder a gunslinger? No, will he be developed as one? Doubt it. When young QB's are brought along the offense is usually dumbed down. The Vikings have the pieces to bring along Ponder the same way the Falcons brought along Matt Ryan. I'm sure that is Leslie Frazier and Bill Musgrave's plan.

And did they really have all those players last year? I don't recall Sidney Rice, one of the games top wideouts being active for 10 games. He in my opinion is a top 3 wideout in the NFL today. He's a huge safeguard for a QB. See Tarvaris Jackson throwing to him last year. When he was in they were 3-3.

And the Vikings didn't draft Ponder because they thought he would be bad. If they are going to slowly bring along Ponder it wouldn't be with Joe Webb starting now would it. It'll be behind a veteran who has years of starting experience in the league. So he can see how things are suppose to be done correctly.

Webb has absolutely no chance of starting week one. I don't know if it's because people are in love with scrambling QB's or what but I don't see what everyone else does in this guy.
