Some of you are missing the point of the cover.
I'll read the article to form my opinion. Good for Mike for sticking up for homos. Too many athletes are too scared to come out of the closet or support the gays for whatever reason, which is dumb.Comment

I support gay rights (aka "sticking up for homos"), but I don't pose semi-nude on covers of gay magazines. That is so self-serving that its almost revolting. Irvin is a poseur clown, nothing more.
I also support religious freedom, so should I be expecting Irvin to dress up in female Muslin robes on the cover of the next issue of Christian Science Monitor?Comment

You are really "out there".

The point of the cover is to show that the Irvin doesn't care about people calling him gay and is comfortable with his sexuality and that everyone should be. I think the cover establishes that pretty obviously, I don't see why it's a big deal really.Comment

Its a weird cover.
I think you have to be someone with a good sense of humor or known to be willing to play the joke on them self to pull that off.
What is pretty common? Treating women like shit so you can prove to yourself that you aren't gay?
Sounds pretty gay to me.
Treating them like shit , having sex with as many as you can etc.
Very common in black and hispanic culture as they have very masculine ideals and standards. Some seek that lifestyle out of early childhood fear or to cover up tendencies they may be realizing.Best reason to have a license.
