He's going to have to put in a career year to even be considered MVP of the NFC South.
He put up a career year last year and it still only got him 3rd best QB in his own division status.

Career year by Josh Freeman standards...Yes.

Career year by NFL standards...Not so much. QB rating was great, and his TD/INT ratio was one for the ages (top 10 in NFL history, IIRC.) but not enough yards, touchdowns, or playoff wins. Or regular season wins, for that matter.

I wonder what the lowest yards, TD's, and regular season wins an MVP quarterback has had?

Thats all mute when you lose to the Lions at home with the playoffs on the line.

Why would a career year for Josh Freeman be judged by anyone other than Josh Freeman's standards? Career year = most productive season to date.

Yeah I had to turn the sound off for that game too. I can't stand Charles Davis in the booth.

I actually see a younger McNabb when I watch Freeman play. The guy scrambles and throws like McNabb with the birds in his first 5 seasons. Difference is that Freeman is actually taller and faster than McNabb.

I don't think I've ever seen Freeman make guys miss like McNabb did.

Freeman doesn't have McNabb's running ability. He always has been and always will be more of a pocket passer.

Freeman played an easy schedule last year, very easy. He went 2-5 against Playoff teams and 8-1 against non-playoff teams.

He has a much much harder schedule this year, playing against the NFC North, AFC South, all while competing against two of the best teams in the NFC with New Orleans and Atlanta.

I believe he can do well next year, but he won't be a contender because, well, I don't think the Bucs will be in the playoffs next year, their schedule is just too hard, and no playoffs means no MVP.

Plenty of scrambles in here that prove you wrong.....

Plus as much of an Eagles and McNabb fan I am, I have hard time saying this, but this guy is actually better than him in all aspects at similar points in both their careers. He will probably turn out a better QB than McNabb in the end.

Freeman looks more like Daunte Culpepper when he runs than Donovan McNabb. Do you remember McNabb's scrambles? Freeman doesn't run like McNabb did when he was young.

Freeman reminds me of Big Ben. Big, tough to bring down, and somehow becomes a better QB on 3rd downs and 4th quarters. Both are big, tall, and both can scramble well enough to pick up those first downs with their feet if they have to.
