old news for some....i was browsing away this morning and came across a biggest busts posts which included Lawrence Phillips and said he was serving 31 years in prison. HOLY SHIT

i remember him for all his off field trouble and being a bust for the rams. but also for being amazing at nebraska.

just a sad and somewhat surprising thing to read since this news wasnt exactly front and center by the media.....what a fucking idiot. to have all that ability only to be such an angry moron who could control himself.

Week 1, 1996 season. A young W2BTD is at a local Hooters knockoff called "Bazooka's". Lawrence Phillips scores a TD, and W2BTD (wearing a Phillips #21 jersey, no less) jump up and goes nuts, attracting quite a bit of attention since he was the only dope watching the ultra shitty Rams vs. Bengals game, which is buried in the corner on the smallest TV in the bar.

You can't blame Phillips for Steve Young being a concussion magnet.

Young already had a concussion 3 weeks before he was knocked out by Williams.

Young was a strong gust of wind away from a concussion when he retired.

There was a 100% chance Young would be sacked at some point that season, and a very good chance he'd wind up with a concussion on said sack.

Blame Garrison Hearst for breaking his ankle and missing the 1999 season, forcing the 49ers to sign Lawrence Phillips, who was still inexperienced and didn't know how to pick up the blitz.

Or blame Phillips, he's a piece of shit anyhow, and deserves it.

thats the sad part about it. what could have been if he had someone to lead him or provide an example. By the time vermile tried, it was way too late

It would have been great if somebody would have taught him how not to run upright. Would have changed his life.
