    The Holdout Thread

UPDATE: ESPN's Chris Sprow looks at a historically similar player to Chris Johnson to see how the runner might fare in the future (see below).

    ---

ESPN's Chris Mortensen has bad news for the Tennessee Titans: Chris Johnson wants more money, and a holdout is not out of the question.

"He's not showing for current $1.5 mill salary," Mortensen writes. He adds that the Titans are working on a new deal.

UPDATE: ESPN NFC East blogger Dan Graziano talks about how the Philadelphia Eagles will deal with their latest distraction:

    ---

Are you ready for some contract disputes? Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News reports that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, upon arriving for work Tuesday morning, suggested that wide receiver DeSean Jackson may hold out in hopes of a new contract.

Vick himself, by the way, is looking for a long-term extension, though he says it's on "the backburner."

I would definitely hold out if I were Johnson or DeSean Jackson.
Both are grossly underpaid ... and this business is cut-throat.
Vick needs to have another great season before I'd remotely consider extending his deal.

I feel as its appropriate to put this here.

Albert Breer of the NFL Network reports that Vincent Jackson will sign his $11.3 million tender and report to the San Diego Chargers on time.
