You play the Cowboys you have a few hall of famers on offense you have to worry about stopping, you play the Lions you have to game plan for just 1 person.......who still managed to avg 5.0 ypc.
They are tough to compare. I guess my point is that its short-sighted to downgrade Sanders for "quitting" after 10 years of 300+ carry seasons, while at the same time ignoring Smith's selfish 'chase for the record'. Smith actually had a year where he averaged less than 3 yards per carry. Instead of comparing him to Barry, perhaps we should compare him to Eddie George.

At work we were talking about how everyone in pick up football used to try to run deep and throw their hand up calling for the ball like Moss.

When a wide receiver leaps up and reaches over the body of the defender to catch the ball during a footb All game... The equivalent of getting posterized in basketball... Named forHall of Fame receiver Randy Moss

            1. mossed 219 up, 15 down
to make a terrific catch in football, usually jumping/leaping is involved, as if randy moss was the reciever
"Yo son, i just mossed you"
future tense: yo son, im gon moss you, check out dis catch ima bout to make"

            2. mossed 99 up, 17 down
when someone jumps over someone else to catch a football.
damn that bitch just got mossed!

            3. Mossed 30 up, 22 down
To excel at something which makes your opposition look inferior. Possibly makes them cry, too.

Originates from Patriots WR Randy Moss, who, even when triple covered, can Moss people, and come up with a score.
The pass was a little too high, but 81 Mossed him, big time. 22 cried a little on the inside, and admitted that he had, indeed, been mossed.
            o

            4. mossed 6 thumbs up
when someone catches an object over another person usually when they both attempt to catch it
Shut up yall both tried to catch it u got mossed.

The Eagles made a contract offer to Randy Moss after the receiver filed his official retirement papers with the league, according to the Boston Herald.
The Eagles just won't stop. Moss' filing of his retirement papers isn't significant as he can unretire any time he wants. If he is truly intrigued by the Eagles' offer, there's a good chance it will still happen. And based on the way veterans are flocking to Philly to play with Mike Vick, we would no longer be surprised.

The Lions did have some talent on some of those teams, especially in '95.

Nothing even REMOTELY close to the talent the Cowboys had tho. There was a good chance 2 hall of fame players were gunna touch the ball every play.

Who cares. Faulk blossomed and peaked with all world guys everywhere. AD has way more talent than Chris Johnson. It only matters when you have a star on your helmet.
Best reason to have a license.

What does anything you said have to do with this? Nobodies saying that Smith or Faluk weren't top 5 all time RBs because their teams were better. But you couldn't stack the box like vs the Rams or those Cowboys like you could vs Sanders Lions, or the Johnson Titans or AD's Vikings (lol more talent, that offense looked as sad as Tennessee's last year, Tennessee actually finished AHEAD of the Viqueens in passing)

I guess the Eagles don't believe Moss is done yet.

There is no debate one has accolades and hardware the other doesn't. Moss/Rice Payton/Dickerson Williams/Faulk George /Brady etc etc
Barry had every tool and oppurtunity to be the best ever. His lack of desire is the single reason why he doesnt. You seem to be logged into mm circa 2002 this is about athleticism and desire.

Bruce smith Jerry rice also hung on too long. Who gives a shit. Maximizing and surpassing your potential >>>> getting by on talent.

Fyi Emmitt Barry didn't come in the same year. At the exact same 10 yr marks of there career Emmitt was behind by 1400 yards and ahead by about 40 tds. Only a fool takes the 1400 yds over 40 extra scores.
At 100 years old he was a hair shy of 1000 yds and 10 tds sharing carries on the frigging cards. Desire and hanging on too long > going home and screwing your teammates.
If lack of desire is carrying a team for 10 years, making the Pro Bowl every year, playing unselfishly so as not to give a shit about records, not being a look at me player, and doing things on the field nobody will ever do again. Then you are right, Barry had no desire. Easy to have desire when your team is in contention every year and you have a guy named Aikman and a guy named Irvin who are threats also on the field.

Emmitt has so much drive he went on Dancing with the Stars! Did he think he'd get more rushing yardage that way?
