Yep, 7 straight 3 and outs will do that to a defensive player. Out there playing hard all game.

It's amazing to me the hate that a player like Tebow gets. He's started, what...8 games? With no receivers, no O-line...but yet, he's under this microscope like no one else. I don't get it.

I find it interesting how mocking Tebow's christian beliefs is seen as humorous. If Tebow were muslim or jewish, I wonder if we would be laughing along with Tulloch's classless nonsense or berating him for being 'insensitive'. I can tell you right now, there are groups that would not stand for this if that was the case.

I'm not one to give a fuck about things like this, I just think the double standard is absurd.

I think most of it has to do with the over the top media coverage the guy got, both in college and after he got drafted. A lot has been made of his devout faith, so that compounded with his atrocious play was bound to receive some kind of mockery.

The hate stems from all the hype and obnoxious love dude gets. Shit has been going on since college with CBS slobbing him off every week. You build a dude up that much he's going to fall hard. It's flat out annoying, you'd think it'd stop after college since he hasn't done anything in the pros...but it's gotten worse somehow.

We've seen the exact same thing on a smaller scale in these forums with posters going overboard with different players.

He won the Heisman as a sophomore...the first EVER to do so. He probably would have won another if he hadn't gotten hurt in his Senior year.

He won national championships as a Freshman and Junior. He almost won another as a senior...coming pretty much as close as you can.

I never thought he would be the next Peyton Manning...no one has. But now that he's starting on a shitty team and doing shitty...he's the WORST EVAR. That seems a bit harsh to throw on the guy after 8 starts on the shittiest team in the league.

Dude gets over-hyped severely and it leads to backlash. VY won a Heisman and a NC, came to the NFL and sucked it up. This didn't happen to him, cause he didn't have the obnoxious hype machine behind him.

I don't care what he did in college, he's a bad NFL QB right now. A bad NFL QB that still manages to lead the league in jersey sales, have retard fans making billboards and the general circus that srrounds him. Dude gets treated like superstar so ofc he's gonna be put under a microscope, just like other stars are. Once the hype stops the hate will too.

How can you not like Tebow? He's a real stand up guy.

What does him being a stand up guy have to do with anything?

People have a hard time separating the player from the person. So you got a bunch of people going wild over Tebow cause "OMG he's such a great guy" which has 0 to do with how he performs on the field. And it leads to this hilarious situation where a guy who can't even play QB manages to be the focus of the sports world. Then people want to get shocked and appalled when the backlash comes. The hype should come more from how he plays instead of how nice of a person he is.

                      Stand up, yes.

                      Run, yes.

Just don't ask him to pass.

This is why I hate Tebow.

They ask him about the whole tebowing thing and his response to it was that he thoguht it was cool because a cancer patient tweeted him tebowing and he felt proud that he could help this kid out with prayer. The guy is way to fucking good of a person. He has to secretly kill people.

So people like Tebow based on his personality....your point?

I suppose next you'll be telling me that there are professional athletes who are hated because of what they do, and not how they perform.

It's funny you have no problem explaining that people hate Tebow because of "all the hype and obnoxious love dude gets", something not directly related to his performance. But when I also explain that I like him for reasons not directly related to his performance, you act like it's a crazy concept.

I'm not surprised that you choose to like or dislike players based on their personality instead of how they play. I doubt you've even watched a Broncos game this year to be honest.
