I think fundamentally you and I are squarely in the "enjoy this while it lasts" camp so I won't continue to argue semantics as to whether this is a BRAND NEW SCHEME or just a MODIFIED SCHEME. Either way the gameplans are drastically different now from where they were at the start of the year, and it was a ballsy move by Denver's coaching staff. Love seeing the effects, as a spread option fanboy.
You sir, are no high school coach so you can fuck right off. Hippy.
So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

I thought the whole point of Zone blocking was its simplicity. You don't need a ton of repetitions against numerous fronts, because you are going to be blocking it the same way every time. Its the simplest of all blocking concepts to teach. If you are having difficulty picking up a stunt in a zone blocking scheme, then you are probably teaching it wrong.

IMO, if they had run a spread with Tebow with a lot of passing, it would have succeeded too ... because this guy is a winner, like Doug Flutie.

I'm guessing they thought the option offence/offense would put Tebow in a bigger position to fail ... and, to their surprise, it hasn't.

I'm sticking to my theory W2B(4)TD. The Broncos wanted Tebow to fail and he's fucking their world up by winning. I'm not asking you to agree, it's my theory.

He carried the ball 22 times and had a QB rating of 95.4. No turnovers (again) and produced a TD.

And before someone comes into the thread to talk about how awesome the Denver defense is now as compared to before, let me point out once again that Denver's new running attack (51 carries for 200+ yards) and lack of turnovers (hi there, Kyle Orton!) has a lot to do with that.

but, der, he only completed 9 passes!!!1!! what a terrible player!

Way to completely disregard the function of a backside read option.

I can't wait for all of the "I told ya so's" when Denver finally gets blown out by somebody.

How long do you think this can continue? Is it a matter of teams figuring out how to stop this, or can this be successful on a consistent basis? I hope its the latter, i love this style of play...but the Wildcat was killed by year 2.

Didn't that happen already with Detroit?

Tebow averaged eight yards an attempt, to River's 5.2. Plus he didn't have any bone headed delay of game penalties.
