Georgia TE Orson Charles cleared by NCAA on Miami matter
ATHENS – Neither Georgia nor tight end Orson Charles will face any NCAA repercussions with regard to Charles’ inclusion in the Yahoo! Sports report on a rogue Miami booster he is alleged to have met during recruiting.
So says UGA in a brief statement it released about the situation late Wednesday morning.
“The University of Georgia is aware of the article mentioning Orson Charles and has been in communication with the NCAA. There are no issues with UGA or eligibility issues with Orson Charles. UGA will have no further comment regarding this matter.”

College football isn't really a joke though. (Unless you aren't a fan, but whatever) The joke is the fact that they treat it like something it's not.Comment

Also, Robert Marve just got cleared by Purdue.
Might be looking good for our current players named in this.Comment

The title is the title...
Why?
Because Miami got busted and they didn't win shit. It was the worst decade of Miami football since we were giving away tickets to games for buying a Big Mac (the late 70's) and we were fucking awful.Comment

First timer...here are some things...I'll post them as I re-stumble upon them.
On Olivier Vernon's accusation page, Shapiro claims to have watched the 2008 UM/FSU game in Shapiro's box with Vernon (recruit at the time); Shapiro claims they stayed in the suite until almost midnight. Yet on Robert Marve's accusation page, Shapiro claims to have racked up over $1,600 at Cameo for players that same night with a credit card statement showing a transaction date of 10/4/08. How could Shapiro travel 19 miles from the stadium to Cameo while it was raining, spend $1,600 and pay the tab all before midnight? If Shapiro closed his tab that night after midnight, then the credit card statement would show a transaction date of 10/5/08.Comment

This one defies reality.
Shapiro alleges that he took Spence, Johnson, Forston and possibly others to Benihana for dinner. The proof is an $83 credit card receipt (and a $15 tip) and some unnamed source who vaguely alleges that he/she saw them there together. That's right an $83 tab.
I'm not sure what coupons he brought with him, but there is absolutely no way Shapiro could take 3 to 5 people to Benihana and buy them all food and drink for $83. A good entree is in the $40 range. In fact, I seriously doubt you can juyst take Marcus Forston to Benihana--and even if you just watch him eat and ate nothing yourself--that you could get out of there for under $85. The only way he doesn't eat $85+ of food at Benihana is if had literally just eaten 4 double Quarter Pounders with cheese just before he entered the door. Come on.
The Cheetah thing also seems suspect. The Cheetah was busted in 2009 and it has been reported that they kept a log of all VIP guests and that they had cameras in the VIP rooms. If they did have a group of 17 and 18 year old kids (obviously underage) at the Cheetah Club in the VIP room on film that has been reviewed by federal prosecutors, wouldn't we have heard about it before?Comment

Also, do Miami bars not stay open past midnight?Comment

Alright on a serious note and a huge Florida State fan, I don't really wish any harm on Miami or Florida except for a few loses in scholarships and what not but this situation is awful, bad for the rivalry. As a college football fan it sucks seeing teams go down for this shit and how terrible the NCAA is with case by case decisions. This has potential to ultimately destroy Miami, bad for FSU (in a sense) and bad for college football. It might not be the death penalty but Miami can not overcome a USC situation, why?
1) money- their funds are terrible
2) facilities- zero some d2 schools have better stuff than a 5X national champion and not to mention they have to drive x number of miles to play a home game
3) minimal fan base
4) Florida and FSU will take over south Florida recruiting
Etc
Just doesn't bold well for Miami and I have mixed emotions about the whole state of the program.

However, he said he was at Cameo after the FSU game and shows a receipt with a date of 10/4. However, said, until the end of 10/4 he was with Olivier Vernon in his suite.
He was at two places at once?Comment
