With Antrel Rolle and Gerald Hayes doing a whatever-the-fuck kind of flip-tackle that was..good play, but I wouldn't put too much stock into it when he got into Hayes/Rolle's zone haha.

Yeah because scoring a TD against the Cardinals in the regular season is totally the same as shredding the best defense in the NFL during the Super Bowl ...

Prob took every penny for him to not say fuck it, i'm leaving soon as this contract runs out. No chance he gets a deal like that form anyone else.

Maybe there is hope for Chris Johnson to get the contract he wants.
This may have just guaranteed he won't get the contract he wants. Because now he's going to set the bar by this, and the Titans won't pay him anything close.

Don't forget that Fitzgerald DOESN'T play defense.

Way too much money for a WR. Christ. He is a great WR, one of the top 3 right now in the game for sure.. but thats a lot of money to be paying. I guess when Ticket prices go up we all you cards fans will know why..

Congrats to him, but the Cards have made a serious dent in their cap.

I agree with Steeljake completely here. That doesn't mean I'm gonna have sex with his sister or livestock ... but he's right, that's too much money for a WR.

PFT makes a good point here.

ya'll are reacting a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitle too strongly when in a day or two its going to come out that this is really worth half the value it is.

meanwhile fitz is going to get high 5's and everyone is talking about it for the time being, which, let's be honest, is the reason these super inflated contracts are signed in the first place (the ego stroke), and are backloaded like a motherfucker. Fitz already had a monster rookie deal that he only saw like, half the value of, before he renegotiated.

in the words of winston wolfe, "let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet." never trust the initial numbers on any NFL star's contract. half the money on the contract is probably only there if he hits like, 3 superbowl mvps in a row or whatever. as a sidenote, this is probably all CJ wants in tennessee too, fat numbers to brag about, that realistically isnt there.

GAWD damn I can watch AJ vs. Fitz highlights all day long! Both are worthy of every penny! It all comes down to whose agent/market value is the best at the time his contract is up!

He's never going to consistently play up to his new contract but I can't fault him for getting paid.

Here's to future salary reconstruction should anything "bad" happen in the near future.

cj responded on twitter to the deal and fitz hit him back:

"Congrats to @LarryFitzgerald god is good," Johnson said via Twitter. Fitzgerald responded via Twitter, "thanks CJ you up next my guy."
lol @ these wanna be thugs invoking god when they speak then heading out to the strip club to make it rain.
