Another issue is that the receiver's helmet wasn't strapped on as tightly as it should have been. You can see when he's laying down that the chinstrap is up over his mouth.

Dudes need to be strapping them on tight. It may not have prevented a concussion, but it should have helped.

exactly how you coach it, and how he's been coached to do it since pop warner. lead with the shoulder and at that point you dont know if the receiver is going to come away with it or not, and its not like momentum could be stopped. what was he supposed to do, put his hands in front of him and go "OH NO!". you HAVE to lay the wood there, it's a violent sport.

only argument comes if he goes head first, but he doesnt.

its the defenseless receiver rule. they know they cant do that. This is exactly why they have this rule. this WR got knocked the fuck out by a hit that was totally un necessary.
