Our first game on the road in Houston should be a big test early. They've came a long way over the years.

Saw on my phone today that the Colts supposedly put an offer out to T.J. Houshmanzadeh and he was in town for a bit, but he is now out talking to the Patriots.

      I wouldn't mind him being a Colt

It doesn't seem likely at this point though because he has better offers from Minnesota and the Patriots.

They cut Ball State QB Nate Davis, no surprise.

Minus whale cut Painter while you're at it.

I don't understand the Housh thing. Like when it was rumored Indy had interst in TO and Moss I wanted to see it go down just for the hilarity...but it doesn't make any sense.

          Between:
          Wayne/Garcon/Collie/Gonzales
          Clark/Tamme

I don't see the need for another WR. I don't see how they're even going to utilize what they have now. All six of those players have had at least a 600 yard, 4 TD performance in the last 3 years.

Plus there's the RB corps that'll hopefully get more touches.

Must mean either Collie isn't 100% or Gonzo isn't. Who knows Indy is never honest about injuries.

Housh would have made sense in Indy. just because of the scheme we have. we already know Peyton is going to make everyone look better than they really are.

I thought it was kind of tacky watching the Rams keep their starters in for the entire first half. obviously they had something to prove or something they were trying to do.

                Jerry Hughes looked bad

Donald Brown looked okay (but he always does in the games that don't matter)

The guy that jumped out to me the most was the Kid out of LSU - Nevis. That kid comes off the line fast and you can see he's a high motor guy, dude looks like he's constantly going 100 mph. it'll be nice to see him come in on passing downs and hopefully we can get some interior pressure.

If the colts could get interior pressure - :megawhoner:

                  Balls.

I don't see him on the Colts site, but nfl.com shows that he's still on the team. The internet gods are trying to fuck with me.

I know that he was a free agent, and I couldn't find anything on him resigning

He had no stats from the first preseason game either

Yeah, I watched it and was looking for him but didn't see him. But I've heard from one of my sources that he is expected to sign with Detroit today.

So apparently the Colts are interested in Terrell Pryor...I personally don't believe it, but I don't necessarily disagree with it. I don't know I just don't know

Pryor doesn't fit with the Colts, based on previous drafts and free agent signings. Indy always goes after high character, hard working, non controversial players.

However, anyone is better than Curtis Painter so I guess Pryor has a small chance.

not a lot of positives to take out of this game.

first of all the first half was fucking abysmal. that was the hardest half of football I've ever made myself sit through and watch. Indianapolis had 1 first down in the first half.

I've been alluding to it for a while now, the folks who have their horse shoe goggles on too tight are going to frown at me for this, but I feel Melvin Bullit at times can be more of a liability than an asset. I've never felt like Melvin is a starting caliber safety in this league, SOLID backup, and I'd even liked him in that nickel position for us specifically when Sanders was still around. but the guy's pursuit angles are kind of shitty, he's usually a half a step late on playing the ball or receiver in pass coverage, and the kid still shits his fucking pants every time anyone runs a bootleg to his side and his responsibility is the edge.

and speaking of fucking bootlegs, you'd think this team would have keyed on those a little after Houston faceraped us with them week 1 last year. I hope this isn't something we see 3 weeks from now. More importantly however, if this IS something we see 3 weeks from now, what the hell is the coaching staff doing.

I'm not even going to talk about Painter - at this point there's nothing to be said.

Jerry Hughes is still doing absolutely nothing, dude can't get off a block to save his life, I gave him some slack last week because I saw the kid getting chipped by a tailback or a TE just about every play, but the Redskinds pretty much left him on an island and the kid was equally noneffective at either of the defensive end positions.

I liked what little I saw out of Delone Carter tonight. I REALLY liked the converted short yardage 3rd down, we need those and if he can deliver on those things are going to really open up for us.

Drake Nevis continues to impress me, idk if buddy is going to be the answer at defensive tackle for us, but I can see him helping us on those passing downs when guys should be able to just pin those ears back and GO. he gets off the los FAST and he's going 100 mph all the time. I'm hoping some of you guys will watch him a little closer next game and share your thoughts with me.

for the most part this game blew ass, preseason games are tough for us specifically because we know our team has no intention of actually trying. but I will say this. a lot of the shit you see Coyer do in preseason he doesn't end up doing in the regular season, at least he didn't last year. I've noticed these last two weeks he's been standing up defensive ends a lot, having them roam around a lot as well, Robert Mathis has been walking over to Freeney's side and attacking the LT off the snap with him, They're running those retarded stunts with defensive ends looping to the inside too. But I remember seeing this last year, wondering to myself "wtf are you guy trying to do" then never seeing them attempt anything remotely close to it in the regular season (aside from the retarded DE's looping into the inside, Indy did that A LOT last year despite the fact it was NEVER effective.)

I think this sums it all up the best though
