College Football Week 1 Discussion

Great Saturday planned. Wake up at 8. Get in an easy 4 miler. Grab breakfast with the wife at a local diner then into my mancave/garage the rest of the day with a few friends and plenty of beer and and garlic/ranch pretzels.

Sounds better than my day. Have to head into work for a few hours, but I'll leave at 7 and go straight to the LSU bar where we have a table reserved in the main floor of a huge three story restaurant that will be jam packed with drunk coonasses.

So the beginning of my day will suck and I'll be playing catch up on the boozing when I get out of work but as long as the Tigers give me a W it's all good.

I wasn't super-pumped for this season, especially considering I'm an Ohio State fan. But last night's game got the blood flowing and damn, I'm ready for college football to be back.

I'm taking Boise and LSU tonight.

SEC offensive coordinators are salivating at getting a shot against that defense now.

42-0 win for the Bucks. Great game. Granted, it was Akron, but still. I'm gonna repeat for emphasis, IT WAS AKRON.

My impressions:
- Defense is dominating as usual. Held Akron to 90 total yards of offense. Will be even better when we get Travis Howard back next week. The dline was eating Akron alive.

- Both Bauserman and Miller looked great. Bauserman looked Krenzel-esque. I'll say it now... Braxton is already a better passer than TP. He made throws today that TP wouldn't have been able to complete, even against Akron.

- Stoneburner with 3 TD's at TE. Figured he would be a big part of the offense this year. Receivers looked good as well.

Overall, a great start to the Luke Fickell era. You could definitely see certain instances already where he's more aggressive than Tressel.
