too fucking bad then. We have to serve 20+ years in the military before we can retire.. get out at 18 years and you dont get shit but a swift kick in the ass

I am not disrespecting the military, but you've never had a 290-lb. man with 4.5 speed tackle you. And 95% of the military isn't the Marines or SEALs. Most of the guys in the military have never seen real action.
And the last time I checked, ordinary workers (and I include myself here) have never had people dropping $50K on a seat licence.

The lawyer is wrong. The retirees have no "rights" to begin with. They are entitled to whatever had been negotiated into their contracts when they were playing and/or were dues-paying members of the NFLPA. Bednarik played before the NFLPA even existed, so he has no legal ground to stand upon.

Its sad that a billion-dollar industry can't treat these old players better....but, in a strict sense, they have no legal obligation to do so.
