Someone will bend over backwards to get ND into their league, similar to what will happen with Texas. ND will never give up cutting their own TV deal for home games, but someone will play ball and concede that if it means getting them on board to join their league. Similar to how the Pac 12 is bending over for Texas and allowing them to keep their Longhorn Network $$$.

Otherwise, good luck getting in the mix for "BCS", or whatever it'll be called by then, money

Also, wouldn't shock me if UCONN and Rutgers are next to the ACC. Rutgers is the biggest draw in NYC for football (which, admittedly, isn't a huge CFB ratings draw) and combined with UConn give you another 25+% of the NYC market.

Would love to get Notre Dame in there...it just makes sense. I fear Notre Dame will be lost in the shuffle if they rough it out and stay Indie while the Super Conferences continue to form.
I meant more as of right now. Depending on how this Super Conference stuff shakes out ND isn't going to give up their TV money or BCS money without holding out as long as possible. Frankly, ND will hang and wait. They will end up joining the conference(if they do) with the greatest dispersal of national teams and what conference has the best combo of recruiting hot beds. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if at some point they look at the Pac12 football wise(Depending what teams are in the New "Super Pac")

Everyone talking about Notre Dame joining a conference and having every other sport in the Big East as a precedent that ND will "look east" I think isn't really true. Notre Dame will do what is best for their football program first and foremost as it's the cashcow. All the other sports will fall in line if and when a move takes place.

Notre Dame will always want as national a schedule as possible for a lot of reasons and they will end up joining the conference that gives them the best opprotunity to do so. Notre Dame will be one of the last teams to move to a conference...if they ever do. I've always said that. Everyone speculating where Notre Dame will end up right now is putting the cart WAY before the horse.

Depending on what teams goes where the ACC, Big 10, Pac12 could all make sense.

Notre Dame won't be making any moves or choices anytime soon at all.

There are more Notre Dame fans in the NYC area than Rutgers or UConn fans.

McMurphy at CBSsports is saying WVU got rejected by the SEC... that is a bit worrisome as he broke the Cuse/Pitt story... but then again, why would WVU officials tell him this... its all just worthy...

WVU shouldn't be in the SEC. At least come to the ACC where you have a chance football wise.

if we get into the SEC (huge if), we will steal so many recruits in the OH, PA, MD, and VA areas b/c of the name brand that is the SEC...

But do you think Holgersen can be (eventually) mentioned in the same breath as Miles, Saban , Chizik and Spurrier?

This does not bode well for high-major basketball programs without a football team like Marquette, G-Town, Nova, and St. Johns. We are basically bystanders hoping not to get completely fucked at this point. To remain competitive as an annual tournament team Marquette really benefits from being a member of the Big East (and its TV deal) and without it could be in a lot of trouble.

An article I read that was interesting but I have no idea how true talked about the possibility of there being an basketball-only conference made from what's left of the Big East along with the tops in the A-10 (Xavier, Dayton, St. Joes). If that's within the realm of possibility it would definitely be better than a lot of alternatives.

ND will stay independent as long as possible on football. I know Swarbrick was a little concerned with what will happen on the Big East front. I would like to see them just chill in the Big East with Louisville, GTown, Nova, and Marquette, and if they grab the Kansas schools as scraps that will be just fine on a basketball front.

But you better believe ND is committed to independent in football until it makes more sense to leave.
