Week 2 thoughts *Cam Cam edition*

*For all you Cam Newton fans....relax...it was just the Pa.......oh wait never mind he had another awesome passing day. So feel free to gloat.
However I dont see it lasting too long. He still has rookie tendencies and makes alot of bad throws and decisions. As teams get more tape of this he will have some awful days. That said considering Steve Smiths inability to stick to fundamentals ,Panthers RB situation, and shotty playcalling I think hes done a superb job.

*Speaking of Steve Smith. Maybe boredom from the last 2 years has hit him ?
Ive seen him take several routes off and handle the ball lazily. Hopefully seeing his QB do so well may snap him out of it as that not something normal out of him. His turnover was very costly he should be lambasted in the film room today.

*Last week it was Ed Reed...this week Charles Woodson. Despite lousy rules some players just find ways to make plays anytime the ball is near them. Even on tipped balls away from him as the camera pans out you see Woodsons jersey number rocketing towards it faster than anyone else. Im not sure exactly what "nose for the ball" requires but whatever it is Woodson has it.

    * Who knew Raiders Bills would be most exciting game of the week. I like the Bills. They still have my heart from the 4 SB run in the 90s I love there Unis.
But how long has it been since theyve had any "name" guys on that team ?
Anytime the Bills have a good day I say "who ?" about 4-5 times during there highlights. Maybe its time to pay closer attention ?

    * Can someone fax or email these to Jason Garret ??
They seem to be missing from his playbook.

I understand Felix Jones is a bust and worthless past 10 touches. But considering the success of the running game last year , and how much you have to take the pressure off Romo it would be wise to call a running play more than once every 2 drives.

    * 9 rec, 143 yds, 3 td
    OMGZ look at this ???
Miles Austin stat line without Dez Bryant.
Guess he still is a playmaker and maybe forcing the ball to a guy who was crippled and forcing every go to play to a guy who cant stay healthy isnt the wisest choice.

    * Are you guys worried about Vick yet ?
I would be. Never had faith in him but he sure seems to be back to old Atl form. Widly inconsistent week to week play to play and still cant handle the blitz without getting premature happy feet and throwing awkward passes.

*Tom Brady scrambling out of the packet to make a play made me think just how little Ive seen him actually do that. Hes always just plunking back and dunking it to some wide open guy. That offensive line is remarkable at pass protection considering the lack of real talent.

    * You ever do a 32 team fantasy draft to start a madden franchise ?
Thats how Ive felt the last 2 weeks.
    Ricky Williams in Bal
    Ronnie Brown on Eagles
    Shockey on Panthers
    Haynseworth on Pats
    Bush on Dol
I guess thats what happens when official off season is one month long and football guides are only in digital format =-/

*The Patriots have the most athletic Fat guys in NFL history. Im convinced theyre 220 lb olympians in fat suits.

Best reason to have a license.

Vick's offensive Line is really bad. And I mean really bad. This was without their starting rookie and they had someone else out as well.

Buzzman is upset because you obviously didn't watch the Lions blowout.

Next week, be sure to watch the 49-3 game while 9 other games are on.

I haven't seen Aaron Rodgers make a bad throw in the first two games. We haven't really had any great catches, they've just been pretty easy catches to make. He has been absolutely spot on with just about every thing he has done so far. I don't think there's been a single thing to criticize about his play yet.

Brees, Rodgers, and ANDY DALTON are the only QB's without an INT through two weeks. It's really going to have to be an off day for Rodgers to throw one IMO.

The total QBR thing ESPN introduced gives Rodgers a 54.9 this week. Barely above average despite completing 66% of his passes for 308 yards and 2 TD. Just seems far above average IMO. He's now behind Tony Romo and Matt Hasselbeck in the leaderboards. el oh fucking el at that.

First I see a Aaron Skat guy giving his opinion on NFLN top 10 lists.
Then I see ESPN QBR stat.

Its pretty clear Sensers anti footballoutsiders agenda failed miserably.

Somebody please blow the Packers out so these Packer fans take it down a notch...

Outside of the Jennings and Nelson touchdowns, Rodgers' day was very mediocre (17/28 175 yards, with many of those incompletions on 3rd down). But it is also silly to just ignore two long touchdown passes.

I would also like to point out that I could have seen that Jennings TD coming from a mile away. That play-action is always money but it is obvious as all hell.

Not sure about Primetime but yesterday's game definitely brought me back down to earth as a Packers fan.

I have only 1 week 2 thought and it is: thank goodness for baseball. I only watched the Steelers game and the Eagles game and neither were particularly entertaining.

Theres been a very NBA like feel to many games. Games arent really being decided early on ,comebacks and scores are the norm. So you can tune into the last 5 minutes and watch the teams exchange bombs down the field and not really miss much.

I watched the entire Steelers game expecting some sort of insane comeback. More ammo for the "NFL is rigged" people.

I was scared crapless the entire first quarter. either Tramon Williams makes -THAT- big of a difference, or the Packers defense isn't nearly as good as it was last year. Did Clay Matthews even play? I saw him involved in maybe a couple of big plays, but he isn't running around like a bat out of hell like he was last year. Nick Collins being out for the year hurts, like, ALOT, he covered up alot of the weaknesses at corner.
