    Someone explain this to me...

I've never understood this either. It's not like the official didn't see the Starks swipe. Hester is an idiot for retaliating but....still.

The same thing happened in the Giants/Eagles game.

Alot of the time when the 2nd person retaliates back, not only does he take it further but the first guy has already stopped so it looks worse. A small shove immediately after a play doesn't look bad, it's the retaliation back that the refs don't like.

I didn't see this play, just in general though.

The retaliation shot is going to be called most of the time, it's the the way it is. You hardly ever see the first shot called unless it is really over the line.

B/c the refs usually don't see the first shot. Once the first shot is taken, the attention is then shifted towards them, and the retaliation is what the refs see. Is it fair? No. But that's how it's always been in sports.

Green Bay always seems to get the benefit of the calls.

Hester threw a punch over the ref standing in between the two. That's when the ref reached for the flag. He(the referee) probably would have let it go, if Hester hadn't thrown the last punch.

There was no excuse for it to be one sided. Just a bad call, kinda like a holding call on 21 when hes jogging down the side of the field. Im trying really hard not to blame the refs tho....

Both should have been called, but the ref was just going to let it go. When the ref stepped in and Hester threw the punch over him, that's when he threw the flag. Should have been offsetting calls.

For some reason the person getting retaliation always gets in trouble regardless of the situation. When I was in 3rd grade a 5th grader was joking me, so when his class went to get their lunch I put thumb tacks in his seat.......he sat on them. In the end he didn't get in any trouble, yet I was given a referral and had to sit at the silent lunch table in the front of the lunchroom for a week.
