Meh. With Woodson getting off lightly (IMO) for his uppercut week one, I'd say the Packers have benefited twice.

If they are going to call ticky tack calls on the slightest H2H contact or lightest touch on Brady, then start ejecting players for punches because it's the fuckin rules.

Packers getting beneficial calls is just karma for the loss against the Cardinals two years ago in the playoffs. :D

I'm sick of this phantom holding call complaining. It's hard to see but it happened while Jarrett Bush was running down (you can see it right when they switched to the wide view of the field). Definitely a hold there. Just because Joe Buck is looking at the wrong part of the tape doesn't mean it didn't happen.

EDIT: I know it's overkill, but here's the call http://imgur.com/a/MLKx2

And as far as the flag on Hester, it was a stupid shot Hester threw after they were being separated (like someone else pointed out). That's going to be the guy penalized EVERY time.

I agree with the idea that they need to start ejecting people for throwing punches. I don't think I've seen it recently.

The ref said he "missed" Woodson's punch, which is why he didn't eject him. Which is completely laughable and an obvious lie considering Charles did nothing other than that to warrant a flag.

Not missing it at all actually. It's pretty much always called that way.

I vaguely remember hearing something a while ago about how the NFL wants to reduce offsetting penalties, especially when it comes to personal fouls. I could be way wrong here but if that is in fact the case, it would make sense as to why only Hester was flagged.

Regardless, that's dumb as hell and both of them should have been penalized. Stupid fucking NFL.

If you get a flagrant penalty for unnecessary roughness on a drive you should be forced to the bench for the rest of the drive. Excluding roughing the passer because that call has become a joke.

Offsetting penalties does nothing to the game so I can understand the NFL's position, so add in some spice here by throwing players off the field for a period of time.

I mean I can understand the nfl not wanting to give offsetting penalties because, well no penalty would be applied in the end. Instead in an instance like this, send the two of the them to the sideline to sit out a play or two, or however long you deem is appropriate.
That would make sense. Having something like the ten minute sin bin rule in Rugby, although obviously allowing a replacement on the field (i.e a sanction above nothing, but below ejection), would improve the situation.

Also on the subject of penalties, they should start calling "Helping the Runner" or get rid of it lol. It could have been called against the Dolphins in yesterday's game (on the play where the Browns were penalised for a facemask against Henne in the endzone, a Dolphins OL literally pushed Henne out of the endzone to (seemingly) avoid a safety) but that isn't the point lol.
