Competitive and good aren't the same thing. The Lions weren't good, but even in the big 14+ point losses, it was a close game going into the 4th qrt and the Lions just didn't know how to finish, so they got butt raped every 4th qrt.

During those games in the 0-16 season, not once was I ever tempted to turn the channel and watch another game because they always battled. Thats what makes this 5-0 start o so more special, they aren't that same team that couldn't finish games out. In the second half this year, the Lions step on the throat and achieve that killshot they ahve lacked in the past.

The Lions were down by more then a TD going into the 4th Q in 11 of those losses that year.. so what you're saying obviously isnt quite accurate. Again, I can see why it would feel competitive when every game feels like a critical win, but competitive just isnt the word to describe the worst team in NFL history.

Whats crazy about this is yahoo keeps their stuff in the past linkable, but I mainly use cbs.sportsline for everything and they didnt give you access to anything over 2 years old.

Yeah nfl.com had the same problem.. Yahoo sports proves superior once again.

Good point. However they weren't the worst team in NFL history.
