Cards got lucky there divison sucked this year maybe , But Warner and the birds still beat Atlanta (Mean south) , Carolina on the road (the champions of the south) and then the Eagles at home.

Drew Brees.
Post season record - 1-2, 5 TDs, 2 INTs, 916 yards.
Kurt Warner.
Post season record - 8-3, 3 super bowl appearances, 1 Super bowl MVP, 1 Super bowl record for most passing yards, 26 TDs, 13 Ints, 3,336 yards.
As ''identical'' as those numbers are, I'm going to have to give the edge to Kurt Warner.
It was close, though.Comment

I said NFC West. I was comparing it to the NFC South. Using that as my argument as to why the Cardinals were in the playoffs in the first place.
Cause if you think New Orleans wouldn't be in the playoffs if they were in the NFC West last season then you're an idiot. Same goes if you think Arizona would be in the playoffs if they were in the NFC South last season.Comment

Arizona got to the playoffs last year because of their division. Or were you not watching the second half of football last year? You know when Arizona started strong, then tanked off to a 9-7 finish?
1) Could Arizona have been in the playoffs last year if they were in the NFC South?
2) Could the Saints have been in the playoffs last year if they were in the NFC West?Comment

The more you post, the worse Drew Brees looks.Comment

Why are you talking 2 seasons ago? You're missing the point.

Of course not cause we can sit and compare records to prove it. You mentioned how "tough" the south is ...this is the 1st year out of many its been this tough... And last time i checked Brees aint no rookie so hes been around when the division sucked as bad as the west almost.
The NFC South has always had pretty good defenses so you can't compare it to THIS YEAR'S NFC West. This years NFC West was composed of 3 of the worst teams in the entire NFL.Comment

Where was Arizona last season come playoff time when the NFC West was just as awful, they just had a semi-decent team in Seattle? Don't use that argument, it's a losing one. We're focused on this past season.

And if this idiot, Nuk, watch San Diego at all in the playoffs when Brees was there, he could tell that Brees was doing everything possible to win that game. They lost cause of LT and the rest of the team.Comment

You answered my question and admitted Kurt Warner would not have been in the playoffs last season had the Cardinals been in the NFC South (be it you said probably but we all know what that means in an argument). So that right there is the end of that debate. You can't go back on it now.Comment

Kurt Warner then took a team who hasn't hosted a play off game in over 40 years, to it's very first super bowl.
What exactly would you like Kurt Warner to do? Go to New Orleans and do Drew Brees' fucking job for him?Comment

In all fairness, when Warner had success with the Rams he had 2 all-pro WRs and an all-pro/Hall of Fame RB. And with the Cards he had 2 Pro-Bowl Caliber WRs. Brees had Colston, some scrub WR's and a backfield riddled with injuries and still threw for 5000 yards. That's pretty impressive.Comment

Kurt Warner took over one of the worst teams in the NFL back in '99. A team that hasn't seen success in my life time, and took them to two super bowls.

Fuck Larry Fitzgerald
Fuck Anquan Boldin
Fuck Tim Hightower
Fuck Edge
Fuck that tight end whoever the hell he was
Fuck Ken Whisenhunt
Like I said, football is a team sport. You must have played quarterback in flag football or you must be the singer of the band because someway somehow you think this all revolves around one person. You haven't made a legit point once in this thread countering one point I've made. It's all the same... KURTS A WINNER!
Drew Brees and Kurt Warner have had the exact same performances in the playoffs, Warner has just had the better cast doing a better job around him.Comment

Kurt Warner wins, because of the talent around him. Drew Brees loses because Purdue, San Diego and New Orleans held him back? I've never heard that reasoning before.
Now that I think about it.... Well, Drew Brees still barely breaks my top 10. But at least I now understand the reason behind the guy's continued failure.
Great conversation, guys.Comment
