There is no defending Harbaugh. This isn't about a "hard handshake", you dolts. It's about Harbaugh ignoring decades old NFL protocol and disrespecting an opposing coach. The 49er fans aren't going to be fair, so forget what they have to say. The rest of you are simply lost. Harbaugh exhibited some of the most crass, boorish behavior i've ever seen from a professional head coach, which is why I give Schwartz a pass for losing his shit. And let's not forget that Harbaugh is a lunatic who has a history of being a douche.

And the comparisons of Schwartz and his fist pumping are invalid. He does that shit on his own sideline, and has never to my knowledge shown up an opposing coach at midfield like Harbaugh did yesterday.
Well W2B has spoken, nothing else to see here...

Harbaugh even admitted it was on him, what else do you need to know?

His brother John isn't as bad, but always loses his composure and spends most of the time just bitching at the officials. IMO, thats one reason why Baltimore could never beat Pittsburgh in the past. Every game would be close, a call would go against Baltimore, and Harbaugh would just lose it on the sidelines.

From what little I've seen from Schwartz, he is also a lunatic. During the Lions-Niners game, he was talking trash to Harbaugh when Harbaugh tried to challenge a TD (which couldn't be challenged...another great NFL rule). I think the blow-up a the end of the game was bound to happen, because both guys are ridiculous.
Two of my best friends played for Harbaugh at USD and they said he was 100% batshit crazy. They told me a couple stories about how looney he is.

One story I remember is how he was giving a speech about how he wants his players to go out and draw blood and when they draw blood they should be licking it and sucking it out of the opponents arms and I guess he went into detail about biting and drawing blood and the players were just like, "this guy is a lunatic."

Great coach, extremely passionate, 100% looney.

I hate to be "that guy"...but the media coverage of this is idiotic, even moreso, that this incident is being described as "defining" both teams and their hard nosed approach that is applicable to their cities.

If this were two black coaches, it'd be seen as thuggery and shenanigans.

Maybe this is just being a Lions fan, but I was really surprised by the amount of people who thought Schwartz was in the wrong here.

              It's not you BigHouse.

Like I said maybe Schwartz overreacted to the situation but clearly Harbaugh was in the wrong first and foremost.

So what you are all saying is just because Schwartz fist pumps from his sideline, talks shit to opposing players from his sideline, and bad mouths the opposing coach from his sideline, it's okay because it wasn't at midfield? I'm not condoning what Harbaugh did as being alright, because it was incredibly childish, but Schwartz is as much to blame as Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has no class because he broke some unwritten rule about shaking hands at midfield after the game but it's okay for Schwartz to run after him down the field trying to fight him? LULZ.

All I can say is lol @ Schwartz getting butthurt when his entire schtick is to curse, trash talk and pump fist like a spray-tanned guido at the Jersey shore everytime something goes his way.

To say nothing of the way he taunted Harbaugh for not knowing the "Don't challenge a TD" rule.

Definition of hypocrisy. Cry me a river.

Harbaugh is definitely in the wrong. But Schwartz has zero right to bitch about it. Absolutely zero.

I see nothing wrong with celebrating and showing the other coach or team up if you actually have done a great job and won the game.

I wonder what happens if Harbaugh pissed off another coach in a similar way. How would Andy Reid react? Or Ken Whisenhunt? Mike Tomlin? Rex Ryan would probably laugh his ass off.

Bucs loss to both and got their asses handed to them just last week by the 9ers and I didnt see anything wrong or malicious about Harbaughs reaction. He was just caught up in the moment of an intense game that came down to the wire. They won that shit on a 4th and goal.

Shit, imagine it being a coach named Raheem.

It really is sad that the minute of post-game craziness is more memorable than the game, which for the record was a great one just like I thought it would be. I really really do hope both teams end up meeting in the playoffs again (although alot of things need to go right for both teams) cause it would be epic.
