Micheal Jenkins and Bernard Berrian are terrible. I wish Ponder the best of luck but I bet this thing will look ugly for a while.

Might as well, they arn't making the playoffs this year, it's time to see what they got in Ponder since winning this season is pretty much out the door.

half the forum. W2B and I called this from the trade and people railed on us saying that it was a good move and blaming washington for him sucking.

Good quarterbacks make bad teams good teams. see peyton manning. bad quarterbacks have people make excuses for them being bad, but they are still excuses, and they are still bad quarterbacks (see Alex Smith).

McNabbs stats: 94/156 for 1026 yards. 6.6 average, lowest of his career since 2002. 4 tds, 2 ints. FOUR TD's through SIX games. Half as many sacks through 6 games as he took all of last season. 82.9 qb rating, second lowest besides last year.

he is who w2btd and i thought he was.

they might as well have gone with Ponder from the get go, as bad as he looked (not his fault he's had 0 first team work). Fresh meat for Clay Matthews, definitely need to devise a Ponder Screws Up drinking game when i head to the Packer bar on Sunday...

There's a lot going wrong with the offence this season. McNabb has definitely been shit but based on other events I don't know how much of it is his fault.

I mean you've got things like going split backs on 4th and 1 and giving the ball to Toby Gerhardt instead of Peterson, you've got games where we've been up three scores and abandoned the run. On Monday night we were bringing on Joe Webb for these stupid gimmick plays on the most random of occassions. Offensive line has been awful too, perhaps (somehow) worse than last season.

Ultimately we're in a position where we aren't going to be making the playoffs and our starting quarterback isn't the guy of the future. McNabb's only hope of ever keeping the job all season was for us to be in playoff contention so it's inevitable that Ponder would be in at some point.

They should just cut him. No use for him to be on the team anymore.

Who lets go of their #1 WR after acquiring a QB who can throw it to him? I don't think McNabb is what he used to be with the Birds anymore, but I felt terrible for him when the vikes let Sidney Rice go. The Sunday night game was pretty much the story of his career, dropped passes and all, oh well. I think he won't be playing after this season. Too bad his career will end this way.

McNabb isn't playing great, agreed, but he was 19-24 when they benched him ... and two catchable passes were dropped.
McNabb wasn't the one giving up 39 points.
That said, Minnesota really doesn't have a choice here. They're not going to make the playoffs, they need to see Ponder play. Ponder is clearly the future.
My only two problems with McNabb: A) He's 20-25 lbs. overweight ... which I think might be affecting his mechanics, and is clearly affecting his mobility; B) His sense of entitlement. He isn't an elite franchise QB anymore, but still thinks he is.
