McCoy and Brown will be the best backs from this draft, but Beanie and Moreno are going to be drafter higher (and in that order). Beanie just has too many injuries and Moreno has shown that when he bulks up (which he will need to), he slows down tremendously.Comment

Knowshon Moreno Draft Analysis:
- Is a very shifty and elusive back in the open field.
- Great Vision
- Finishes off his runs.
- Does not have great long speed.
- Is not a guy that will run you over but always seems to convert in the redzone and in short yardage.
- Good receiver out of the backfield.
Chris 'Beanie' Wells Draft Analysis:
- Great burst through the hole.
- One of the best stiff arm guys i have ever seen.
- Will take on any defender and fall forwards.
- Does not have great long speed.
My honest evaluation on the two backs. I just think Moreno has more to offer any NFL team.

because I don't think you've actually watched these two backs play, and I think your just jumping on the bandwaggon.
Wells is not only faster then Moreno, he's stronger, has better acceleration through the hole. and one guy isn't going to tackle him. which means he will probably transition better into the NFL.
here's some food for thought.
In the national championship game of 2007 where LSU was notorious for their stout hard nosed defense. Beanie wells rushed for 146 yards on 20 attempts...
a 7.3 ypc average.
his long run of the day was a 65 yard touchdown.
This year Knowshon had an almost identical game against LSU, the difference was that LSU defence was watered down something terrible then it was the year before, as they not only lost a grade A safety, they lost their best defensive tackle, one of their best linebackers, and more.
so if Beanie Wells can tear up the National Championship beast Defense, and get the same stats that Knowshon got against a watered down form of it, its an easy pick for me.
I don't know how Knowshon will do in the pros, and I don't know how Wells will do, but if I had a pick, I'd pick Wells over Knowshon.Last edited by ThunderHorse; 02-25-2009, 05:01 PM.Comment

Wells also had a MUCH better game against Michigan State then Moreno did.
you can find the stats, he rushed for almost twice as many yards and his average was almost double that of Moreno's.Comment

My top 5 would be..
1. Moreno
2. McCoy
3. Wells
4. D. Brown

an offensive line takes you far yes. Ron Dayne is living proof of it.
but what you appear to be saying is Ohio states offensive line is on a visibly different level from that of Georgia's, which isn't true.Comment

gotaa go with brown from uconn. i have a feeling wells will never shine in the nfl, and moreno seems to me the next reggie bush. an above average back, but just couldn't do what he did in college.

He's a strong runner, thats for sure
I don't think he's fast enough, but if you plug him into the right system I bet he'd be a pretty good back.
but if your getting run down in the Big Ten conference, it means your probably dirt slow.Comment

I would go with UCONN's Donald Brown. I think he should be a good pro. I also like McCoy though.Comment
