If this was still pre-SEC CG days, we'd just crown LSU as the conference champion after the regular season. Would you prefer that?Comment

Who says you need East/West separation? What they needed was 12 teams, and they figured to separate them. Im ok with the separation for rivalry & scheduling purposes, but not for determing whos in the conf championship game.Comment

So all of you who are attacking me would rather see LSU-Georgia than LSU-Alabama? Just making sure.
Alabama is higher ranked & has a better record than Georgia, my concept is the conference championship games should include the 2 best overall teams, not have them separated arbitrarily in 2 divisions. Every year you see shit teams win a shit division and get blown out in the conference championship game.Comment

Obviously what i prefer is to keep the 12 teams and just choose the highest ranked 2 teams, not to eliminate the game altogether. Whats wrong with all of you?Comment

You: "They shouldn't do it like that they should change it!"
Me: "Uh, the only reason they even came up with this idea is to accommodate the very set up you are trying to change."
You: "So? They shouldn't do it like that they should change it!"
... repeat ad nauseum

You seriously want the SEC to merge into a single league but still hold a rematch between LSU and Alabama in Atlanta, three weeks after LSU beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, simply for kicks?
The SEC CG is to accommodate teams in opposite divisions who have not gotten to play the top teams in the other division. Georgia has not played LSU, Alabama or Arkansas. How can you possibly pretend to know that they are not as good as the teams in the West? Because you are just guessing?Comment

again, you are letting the point of this argument go over your head: it doesn't matter what we want, Georgia and LSU (likely) won their divisions and will play for the SEC championship, its as simple as that... same thing happened with Texas back in 2008... it does suck, but you cant just arbitrarily reassign teams to divisions every year (or in the middle of the season) to separate the two best teams, thats fucking retarded...Comment

I really like NAHSTE, but I would like to see LSU lose to Arkansas and see Oregon and Alabama win out. I want to see this for no other reason, but to see if voters would rank Alabama and Oregon ahead of LSU. If they did it would show its not about who you lose to, but instead when you lose.Comment

The fucking people who invented the championship game, that's who. You are arguing about something that was literally made up 20 years ago.
You: "They shouldn't do it like that they should change it!"
Me: "Uh, the only reason they even came up with this idea is to accommodate the very set up you are trying to change."

That would be the stupidest thing ever.Comment

So ignore on teh field results and just pick who Zoneblitz thinks are teh two best teams and have them play.
Awesome.
Is it possible that Georgia is betetr than LSU? Sure. Likely? Or do I think so? No. But it's possible.
There's no reason(at this point) that Georgia doesn't desrve to play LSU to see who is better and the champion of the SEC.
Zone must be an Alabama fan or something.Comment
