Quick Reads: Is Tony Romo clutch?

Tony Romo has good games and bad games, and Laurent Robinson will decide the NFC East.

    Got it.

Read this earlier today. Nothing I didn't know. Robinson has been a find, but I think they're overselling his stock a bit. The running game picking up and the O-Line finally showing some cohesion has had a much bigger impact.

The other terrible PFO articles reminded me of this one. In retrospect, what decided the NFC East were the two late season games against the Giants in which the Cowboys lost both times. Now anyone with a brain could have foreseen that what would eventually decide the NFC East was the Dallas Cowboys defense, and they did. Rob Ryan's ridiculous insistence on playing a pressure scheme while having a slow, unaware defensive secondary resulted in Dallas giving up numerous big plays all season long.

But lets look at how the two guys (Romo & Robinson) whom PFO said would determine the NFC East and see how they did in those Cowboys-Giants games.

In the first game, Romo threw for 321 yards, 4 TDs, and 0 INTs while Robinson had 137 yards and a TD. Good enough for the win that would clinch the NFC East? Nope.

In the second game, Romo threw for 289 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, while Robinson had 61 yards and 2 TDs. Still not good enough.

Why? Because the Cowboys defense gave up 66 points and over 900 yards of offense in those two games.

if the answer is somewhere in the middle, that means he isnt clutch to begin with and most football fans know it now...Eli Manning is clutch, Romo is a paid NFL QB who starts on a team

                  at using SB APPEARANCES.

He's won 1 Super Bowl. No better or worse than Brees, Rodgers, either Manning, etc.

I use that word because getting there is just as tough as winning it..there has only been 45 and that puts him in elite company..Rodgers and Brees dont belong in the category yet, theyve only made it once

                      So is Jim Kelly's 4 APPEARANCES/zero wins better than Favre's 2 APPEARANCES/1 win?

These fans are fucking retarded. Romo isn't the issue and it boggles my mind that other Cowboy fans believe he is.

Question, who do you put above Romo?

Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger? I know you're going to say Eli but I'd take Romo over him every time. That's not an argument I'm trying to get into though.

It's not about putting Favre down, but your argument for why Rodgers and Brees aren't in his category is just not valid.

For the record, Brees is averaging more yards per season AND more touchdowns per season than Brett Favre did.

                              Drew Brees: Averaging 3703 Yards/Season, and 25.5 TD/Season
                              Brett Favre: Averaging 3592 Yards/Season, and 25.4 TD/Season
