Probably has to do with the fact that he's fairly old and towards the end of his career. His asking price might be too much for them.

He is not asking a gzillions for his contract. But Reid/Banner have a habbit of low balling players so much, that the player has no choice but to look elsewhere. I bet the offer was not much better than the league minimum or what a 2nd year SS would make. The Eagles FO is a bunch of pricks with no heart. This is no way to maintain a team in a sport that values team chemistry so much.

Bottomline He is the heart and soul of the Eagles, and if he is gone because of this situation, that defense won't be nearly as good as last 13 years, based purely on motivation, work ethic and intensity.

Its a buisness , every owner has no heart if they think a player isint worth X amount of money. There not gonna give him what in there eyes they dont think hes worth just because hes Brian Dawkins.

Same thing that happend with Marvin Harrison and such
