Haynesworth has been known to only show up when it counts. He had his three biggest years when it counted the most, his senior year in college and both contract years. He now got his money, and now is gonna go back to being lazy, good job Washington.

I don't get the Skins signing Haynesworth to a contract like this. No defensive player is worth a contract like this and especially a defensive lineman who due to the position is prone to injury (ala someone rolling on his leg, getting chopped, etc - happens every game). You just don't pay that much money for a defensive lineman and especially one who is in consistent.

The Skins defense was actually good last year (finished 4th in the NFL)....the problem was their vanilla offense which included poor playcalling and a lack of offensive threats (ie WR). Haynesworth simply being their will make the defense better, but not to the point where the TEAM will be better. They need to open up the offense and see what Campbell can do, because at this point all he does is throw to his check down options.

They've made Haynesworth and now DeAngelo Hall among the highest paid players at their position, when their offense was where they had the most needs.

There corners still suck, there offensive line still sucks. Look what they did with jason taylor, yah how did that work out.

ok, I made a few posts on how I hated this deal. And I still do, 100 million for a guy come on. I mean how many more games is he going to win for us, so we tied up 154 mil in two players. I would have like the skins to go out and sign Housy, Boldin or 85 instead. Maybe a trade I dont know. But for the guy that made the comment of a signing a big draft pick. Im pretty sure dont have a first rounder again this year so that doesnt matter and these draft picks are all a crap shoot. Stafford is going to get over 80 just because Ryan 72 last year. They really need to cap this shit for these unproven rookies.

yeah id rather pay a guy like hyneworth 100 mill then an unproven rookie 60 million because he's a top ten pick.

Im really hoping that Hynesworth plays to shut everyone up.

We still make one more impact signing yet or trade. Wait and see.

The $41 million is guaranteed in the first three years, which could make it relatively easy to re-visit the contract then. We'll see how he reacts to all the money, but Redskins coordinator Greg Blache usually gets the most from his lineman and Haynesworth is the best free agent available in a decade. In a market full of mediocre players, he's worth it. Life just got far easier for Jason Taylor and far worse for NFC East opposing centers.

So they really arent on the hook that much.

Im not saying its working out or it isnt. I hope he just shows up to play everyday, every game and like my post above if it doens they are really only on the hook for 41 mill or so and can move him after three years.

I find it ironic as hell that Haynesworth will be lining up twice a season against the guy he stomped on a couple years back, Dallas vs. Washington just got that much more interesting.

I believe 32 million will be coming to him within the next 13 months.

I am confused as hell on how the team with the least cap space can dish out this much money to start free agency. I hope they're in cap hell next year.
