The CARTEL clearly doing something right...

UCLA is 6-6 and going to play in the Pac12 title game.

Win...they go to the Rose Bowl.
    Lose...they stay home.

    lulz.

Almost as good as Alabama, not winning their division, nevermind conference, playing in the National Title game.

Entire sport is a joke and impossible to take seriously. It gets worse every year.

Utah has the tie-breaker and an easier last matchup then UCLA?

Also fuck Bama getting a re-match.

        This is the thing...

Unlike any other sport...teams in college football have more goals than simply "win the BCS championship"...

        Its a very fragmented sport.

Even in the FCS level, the Ivy League doesn't play in the playoffs...the Ivy League schools have one goal...win the Ivy League.

Winning the MAC is big for the schools in the MAC. For Big10 and Pac12 schools...winning the Rose Bowl is more important than anything sans, a national title.

There are difference standards for success in the sport. And, its what makes the sport as great as it is.

In the NFL or any other pro sport...sure, there is a playoff, but we're still talking about a handful or two of teams that actually have a shot and therefore, their games have meaning. In CFB and CBB, the same holds true, for the national title, only a certain few teams are in the mix, but considering the standards for success in the sports vary across 120 teams...it makes all sorts of games hold meaning in some way.

The reason some of these goals are held in such high regard, is it's the only reasonable goal for these teams.

There is no reason winning the MAC or winning the Rose Bowl can't still be a goal for teams, and still be considered great accomplishments, along with a playoff.

College hoops teams take great pride in league titles and league tournament titles, too.

I don't disagree...in D1 CFB, I only see an ~8 team playoff at maximum...no different than the same 8 teams in contention for the BCS in the first place...it just determines the champion is a more modern/conventional way.

Since many hated my idea of selecting conference title game teams differently, and said winning divisions is the only right way, whats so funny & wrong about this?

(I agree with you, just wondering)

They are actually 6-5 and playing USC this weekend to determine who goes to the championship game from the south, so I'm not sure where you got all that from.

*Edit* I forgot USC was banned, sorry Larry

USC cant go because they are banned, im not sure if thats what you meant. Its gonna come down to either 6-5 UCLA or 6-5 Arizona State from the south, or possibly Utah.

                      it slipped my mind too.

It's weird seeing these USC games on TV that mean absolutely nothing.

Utah can still get into the Pac 12 TG too. UCLA loses and Utah win Utah goes to the Pac12 TG at 8-4.

To be fair to the CARTEL here if not for Pete Carrol and USC being crooked assholes there's no issue here...more than likely. However even if USC was bowl elgible a UCLA win next week over them still would have put them in the Pac 12 TG

                          der fixed

Here's hoping everyone loses twice, Houston wins out, and they end up fluking their way into the NCG via the computers, where they are promptly beaten 45-6.

Anything it takes to embarrass THE CARTEL.

                            THE CARTEL embarrasses themselves.

We could see 7-6 UCLA team make the BCS, and 7-5 Louisville is on a collision course with the BCS as we speak.

Yet...the media gets all in a huff over Boise State, TCU, and Houston being in the BCS picture when they are often 11-1, 12-0 teams. lmfao.

I would guess the issues are 1) the PAC12 is terrible, and 2) teams getting automatic BCS bids. I have no problem with UCLA playing in the PAC12 title game if they won their division...thats how conference play is setup. I do have a problem with UCLA getting an automatic BCS bid. The problem is that the CARTEL system is completely inflexible in some areas, yet entirely subjective in others. It reminds me of those Tyler Palko Pitt teams that would go 7-5 and play in the Fiesta Bowl because they "won" the Big East. Why? If you have the power to essentially chose the 'national champion', then why can't you give me a decent Fiesta Bowl matchup?
