Does Chris Johnson start next game?

I think they should put at QB, then let Hasselbeck play running back.

IMO, that gives them the best chance at success.

Ringer was making some things happen today, not sure why they didn't use him more.

The Titans are in a tough spot, they were ready to give Ringer much more field time a few weeks ago and then CJ his lone big game of the year while Ringer struggled, and that kind of killed the momentum Ringer had. Now the Titans are in the same sito they were in a few weeks ago. Its hard not to give CJ the carries given the price tag, but maybe it'll be beneficial to him to have to look over his shoulder a bit more while Ringer gets a heavier workload. Competition usually inspires good play, CJ is probably far too comfortable in his role as a starter as it is.

Ringer should be getting some action out there. I know Johnson had a great game last week, but for Ringer to have zero rushes and just three receptions is a dumb coaching decision. After last weeks game, I don't necessarily think this is an issue from missing training camp- Johnson is definitely too comfortable right now.

If he would've played well he wouldn't have gotten many more yards. He had no running room at all from what I saw.

My guess is this performance will continue for him, if so, does it make it one of the biggest collapses in NFL history for "get paid, lose all ability to perform"?

Glad someone actually watched the game. Too many people just look at the state and immediately assume he didn't try or he should be replaced, but hey, that's what fantasy football does to people.

There were 3 or 4 people in the backfield every time he touched the ball. Even the best of runningbacks wouldn't have gotten much more than what Johnson did today. The offensive line has been one of the worst in the league in run blocking ever since Kevin Mawae left after 2009 (2000-yard season). Johnson's speed has taken a hit since then, but the line just isn't the same and misses the nasty streak it used to play with without Mawae in there. Hutchinson looked bad, Harris is beyond useless in both faucets of the game, Velasco was making his first career start lining up across Vince Wilfork and even Roos was getting his lunch handed to him by Chandler Jones.

Some of the blame can be put on Johnson, but most of the blame should be put on the people in front of him and you all would see the same if you actually watched a game.

Unfortunately all that most NFL fans know based on the lack of coverage from the NFLN and ESPN is that Johnson had a bad stat line. Whether it is deserved or not, he is becoming the current poster child for "get paid, get lazy".

CJ was a stud a few years ago, but his yardage has declined every year. And no i did not see yesterdays game. But 11 carries for 4 yards does not look good. But you know thats got alot to do with blocking.

Last year he was lazy, or at least a step slower because of the lack of work due to his holdout. I was actually shocked at how hard he was running yesterday at the start of the game, but again, he had nothing there for him. But like you said, people want to look at stats and draw conclusions right away.

So far I've only watched the first drive but the bad blocking excuse sounds like a cop out to me. Sure the blocking isn't the best in the league but too many time Chris Johnson looked to cut it back or try to bounce the run outside instead of just following his blockers. On a few runs I saw he could've gained decent yards but instead lost yards or went for a short gain simply because it looked like to me he was trying to break that one big run. He looked incredibly indecisive, despite off-season reports he's not as fast or as quick as he was a few seasons back. At this point I think they need to find a new RB outside of what they currently have. Try and see if you can get Ryan Grant for cheap?

EDIT: The blocking definitely is bad but Chris Johnson could've done better. Titans Oline was clearly outmatched.
