    Kyle got fired

Free agent CB Carlos Rogers made it clear Wednesday night that he doesn't expect to re-sign with the Redskins, while also taking shots at DeAngelo Hall.
"I wasn't the corner that gave up the most touchdowns or yards or first downs," said Rogers, speaking directly about Hall. "But I'm the corner that is looked at (as) the second corner, (management feels) I need to be replaced." Asked if he regrets anything he's said, Rogers replied "I don't care. I ain't say nothing that ain't true." He could be as high as the third best corner available on the open market, depending on free agency rules.

Free agent CB Carlos Rogers likes the idea of playing for the Cowboys or Eagles.
"It would be fun to play against the Redskins twice a year," added Rogers. The six-year veteran is calling himself the second-best corner on the market behind Nnamdi Asomugha, which is laughable considering Antonio Cromartie, Johnathan Joseph, Ike Taylor, Josh Wilson and Brent Grimes are also free

Anthony Armstrong is expected to keep his starting split end job this season.
The Redskins drafted three receivers, but among them only Leonard Hankerson is considered NFL-ready. While we like Hankerson or Chris Cooley to lead Washington in receptions -- assuming they don't sign a No. 1 in free agency -- Armstrong will remain a safe bet to pace the team in yards per catch. He averaged 19.8 last year and may be the fastest player on the roster

Free agent Clinton Portis' first choice is to play for the Giants this year.
He originally wanted to play for the Saints, but realizes that's a pipe dream after the Mark Ingram selection. Portis cited the Giants' offensive line and a run-oriented philosophy while also making it clear that a priority is "a quarterback who had the opportunity to really run his system." Portis listed Michael Vick, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady as other signal-callers he'd like to join. We're not confident that the 29-year-old will land a guaranteed contract this summer

Redskins TE Fred Davis is down to a lean 245 pounds after playing last season at 258.
Much like LenDale White with Patron, Davis attributes the weight loss to drinking less alcohol this year. He intends to keep the weight off during the season. Davis expects a bigger role now that he has an understanding of Kyle Shanahan's offense. We'd advise keeping fantasy expectations low unless Chris Cooley misses time with an injury

Armstrong was one of my favorite players last season, and he's got a good future with us. He's a great route runner and always seemed to come up with the big catch.

Good luck making the Giants roster. I can't see them making room for Portis, or most other competing teams for that matter. Portis is either not getting a roster spot, or he'll be going to a team that is not competing, but would like to add his presence in the locker room.

It would be foolish to let go of Rogers, as I've said before. He's one of the best cover corners in the league, even though he can't catch for anything. But I think he's going to be gone and it will be a mistake.

I like Armstrong too, he can stretch the field.

Portis may catch on with a team like New England or something, who knows. He's always been a personal favorite. I have a authentic Hurrican jersey he signed for me hanging in my game room.

Rogers will have to do ALOT of damage control now if he were to come back.

Are you really sure Carlos Rogers is one of the best cover corners in the league?

Might be, but he's certainly one of the better ones. I think most people think he is average because he can't catch anything, but he's pretty damn good. That being said, I don't think he's going to return, but it would certainly be better to re-sign Rogers and spend the money they save on another player elsewhere.

I've heard he could be anywhere from the second to fourth best corner available depending on free agency rules as well. Take that with a grain of salt from the talking heads on various news agencies though.

All the corners mentioned in that small article manchild posted are definitely better than Carlos Rogers. I think you're overrating him a bit.

The Redskins' coaching staff has confirmed to Kevin Barnes that he will play strictly cornerback going forward.
Barnes saw action at safety with LaRon Landry sidelined late last year, but the Skins are viewing him as a potential replacement for free agent Carlos Rogers in case they don't land Nnamdi Asomugha or another high-profile corner. Barnes, 24, was the 80th pick in the 2009 draft. He finished last season with five pass breakups and an interception in 10 games.

Redskins S Kareem Moore's latest knee surgery, which "shaved" his left PCL, will sideline him until August.
Moore had the surgery in late December, and it's his second knee procedure since last summer. Considering the lengthy timetable, it's fair to wonder if the latest operation was more than just a routine scope. The Skins will move forward with Moore backing up new FS O.J. Atogwe across from SS LaRon Landry

Redskins PR Brandon Banks is participating in player-organized workouts and says he is "90 percent" recovered from a February stab wound that resulted in a collapsed lung.
Banks says he considers the wound, "nothing more than another bump in his road," and he plans to go forward with "a chip on my shoulder." An undrafted rookie last year, Banks should return healthy as the Skins' primary punt retu

Free agent DE Kedric Golston drew a second-round tender from the Redskins before the lockout.
Golston, a five-year veteran, is in no rush to sign elsewhere. "I'm a Redskin," Golston said. "They drafted me. This is my organization. This is my home base. I'm going to be a Redskin until somebody tells me otherwise." Golston would be no more than a rotational end if the tender sticks

CSN Washington's Rich Tandler predicts that Ryan Torain will not be the opening day starter at running back for the Redskins.
Already the league's most injury-prone back, Torain will have a tougher time than usual staying healthy with no structured offseason and training camps in jeopardy. Even if Torain makes it through preseason in fine shape, Tandler believes fourth-rounder Roy Helu could "flat beat him out for the starting job." We wouldn't rule out a free agent addition to Mike Shanahan's backfield, either.
