Comcast Sports Washington's Rich Tandler doesn't believe Malcolm Kelly will make the Redskins' 2011 roster.
"Doesn't seem to be a Shanny-type player, think he's out," writes Tandler. We'd also point to Kelly's inability to separate and stay healthy, in addition to the Redskins' three rookie draft picks used on wide receivers. It's pretty clear they're ready to move on. The 51st overall choice in the 2008 draft, Kelly has just 28 career catches without a touchdown

One league source tells CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan is the reason for Donovan McNabb's falling out with the Redskins.
"I'll tell you why," the source said. "The son doesn't like him." Kyle does like John Beck, however, which is odd considering he and his father opted to play turnover machine Rex Grossman instead of using the month of December as an audition for Beck. Unless the Redskins are embarking on a "Suck for Luck" campaign this year, it's hard to buy Beck as an NFL starter.

According to research done by the Sacramento Bee, the Redskins, Falcons, and Dolphins have held the most heavily populated player-organized workouts this offseason.
Redskins workouts, organized by London Fletcher, included about 30 players for a two-day session in April and 41 at last week's "minicamp." The Falcons have been running 7-on-7 practices since May 10 with around 30 players showing up for each. Chad Henne and Jake Long have led Dolphins workouts. Meanwhile, the Packers have held no player-organized gatherings at all

CSN Washington's Ryan O'Halloran believes coach Mike Shanahan isn't done adding to his backfield this year.
O'Halloran suggests Shanahan will sign or acquire a veteran back, likely on a one-year deal, to add to the mix. With the league's sketchiest quarterback situation and a highly inexperienced wide receiver corps, the Redskins will need to lean heavily on the ground game this season. Shanahan may have doubts about an aging back such as Ronnie Brown after last year's debacle with Larry Johnson and Willie Parker. We see Steve Slaton as an obvious fit.

Redskins WR Terrence Austin has put on eight pounds this offseason, mostly in the upper body.
Austin was listed at a ridiculously small 5-foot-11, 177 as a rookie, so the weight gain was much needed. The 2010 seventh-round pick has taken up boxing this offseason. Austin caught only three passes for 47 yards as a rookie.

I had a dream last night that we beat the Cowboys and Ronnie Brown was our running back. LOL

I'm going to be a Redskin until somebody tells me otherwise." Golston would be no more than a rotational end if the tender sticks
I'm a fan of Golston, both as a Redskins fan and UGA fan. Hes a solid rotation guy along the defensive line, who always plays with a high motor and is becoming a leader on the team, helping London Fletcher organize player workouts.

No way he makes it. Kelly can't stay healthy, and while I see the team giving him one last chance, he's got to have a lights out camp and pre-season to even sniff the squad.

I love what Fletcher and Golston are doing running the sessions. Even Grossman, who doesn't have a contract, is showing up, as are some rookies. They even went out and tried to acquire liability insurance.

Slaton as a solid pass-catcher and former Texan is one option. I could see Darren Sproles being an option to help with the passing game and return game, or a trade for Reggie Bush. With Helu and Torrain, I see the Redskins going for a quick back who excels in the passing game and stretching the field.

CSN Washington's Rich Tandler expects the Redskins to make free agent Santana Moss a contract offer that won't "induce him to sign immediately."
The Skins have some leverage after drafting three receivers, and Tandler expects Moss to shop himself around after only receiving a mediocre offer from Washington. If there is a new CBA, Moss is likely to be the fifth or sixth best free agent wideout on the market, although he'll easily be the No. 1 slot receiver. We don't think he'll return without a hometown discoun

Chris Cooley needs just two receptions to surpass Jerry Smith as the Redskins' franchise leader in catches by a tight end.
Smith, a two-time Pro Bowler, racked up 421 receptions from 1965-77. While we've cooled on Cooley's Dynasty league prospects, he has the makings of a value pick in redraft formats this year. The 'Skins play-callers are extremely pass-heavy, and the receiving corps may be the weakest in the league as currently composed.

Redskins WR Malcolm Kelly "feels good" after dropping 10-15 pounds this offseason.
Beat writer John Keim notes that Kelly was the "experienced receiver of the bunch" at Tuesday's workouts, which speaks volumes about the state of the Redskins offense. It's nice to finally see an increased commitment level out of Kelly, but it's likely too little too late for his Redskins career. He's not a darling of the coaching staff.

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora suspects that the Redskins will not get more than a fifth-round pick in a trade of Albert Haynesworth.
La Canfora, a former longtime Skins beat writer, believes Washington would be wary of trading Haynesworth to the Eagles, who are known to have interest. "I think they’d trade him for a seventh-round pick somewhere outside the division before they dealt him to the Eagles now, with (DL coach Jim) Washburn there, or cut him," says La Canfora. "They should have taken a fifth for him last offseason and ended the circus then."

Redskins LT Trent Williams has been noticeably absent from offseason player-organized workouts.
There was a feeling at Oklahoma that Williams didn't harness his talent due to a lackluster work ethic. Williams insists his absence is merely the result of communication mix-ups. "I think they send out emails," he said, "and I didn’t get an email." The No. 4 pick in last year's draft, Williams says he currently weighs 320 pounds. He was 314 at the Combine weigh-in last February

Speaking with CSN Washington on Saturday about the Redskins' acquisition of Donovan McNabb last offseason, GM Bruce Allen said he would "make the move again."
Allen also disagreed with the notion that McNabb and OC Kyle Shanahan did not work well together. "I thought they gelled very well at times," he said. Even if that's true, and there is much evidence to suggest it's not, McNabb's time in Washington is almost surely over.
