Yeah, but there's also part of me that doesn't want the bye because it seems we're finally clicking at the right time.

Would like to keep that momentum going, as we're getting healthy too. Marc Columbo has said he will be ready for Wild Card Weekend. (Though Doug Free has been solid, as I predicted he'd be. That said, Columbo is much stronger and meaner and I think his absence plays a role in these short yardage problems we've been having.)

Only cold-weather stadium we'd be playing in would be Philly, and I think that weather bodes worse for them than us.

Wasn't Doug Free's nickname in college, "The Freak" or something similiar? If he's a "Freak" like his nickname indicates, and Columbo is meaner ... woah by golly jebus!!

Seriously speaking though, I do not like Columbo's pass protection nor is Free's pass protection that much better. I'd hate to hurry Columbo back if he's not fully healthy and if his return sparks return to the clusterfuck.

Doug "Freak" was the nickname.

He was called that because his speed, agility and footwork were frreakish for an offensive lineman. He was sufficiently strong, but obviously left some to be desired. That's why he was available in the 4th round. He is a Left Tackle prototype, not a Right Tackle, which requires being stronger and more of a mauler, which is exactly what Columbo is.

Joe Jurasek is one of the better strength coaches out there and he has done a good job with him, but Columbo is the best RT on the team. Free should be starting at LT within the next year.
