The OFFICIAL Peyton Manning Sweepstakes thread...

Adam Shefter believes that the Colts will draft Andrew Luck with the 1st pick in the draft and that they will then try to trade Peyton Manning. Keep in mind that he is not reporting this or hasn't heard this from anybody, he's just guessing.

Let's say it happens. Where does he go? Some of the teams that might be interested:

    Washington Redskins
    New York Jets
    Denver Broncos
    Kansas City Chiefs
    Cleveland Browns
    Miami Dolphins
    Seattle Seahawks

What do you guys think? Any chance the Colts let Manning go? Where's he likely to go? You gotta think Dan Snyder is going to try to get him but I don't know what their cap situation is like.

We see what happens to the Colts without Peyton Manning, it'd be dumb to let him go.

Really? What if they got two 1st round picks for him and a bunch of other shit?

With his injury concerns, you might as well get as much as you can while you have the chance to draft the best QB prospect in 30 years.

        Fucking Raiders.

Why not have Luck study under Manning and become Manning 2.0 if he is teh best prospect evar?

I think it is 50/50 whether or not Manning is done in Indy. He doesn't feel that comfortable about it either or he wouldn't be risking trying to come back in December and prove the Colts front office that he can still play. If he can't do that, it could get interesting with regards to Manning finding himself in a new location.

So the plan would be to get rid of Manning, but keep Caldwell and Painter?

The Jets SHOULD try to acquire Manning if possible, but it won't happen. I really believe Sanchez is single-handedly holding this team back from greatness.

There has been plenty of rumor and innuendo that Manning would balk at the idea -- or that Luck could try an Eli Manning-type power play -- but Polian believes the new salary structure for first-round picks makes it a feasible arrangement. Polian's model is Green Bay, where Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers managed a successful, if awkward, co-existence. Manning has earned the right to finish his career with the Colts, just as the franchise has the obligation to protect itself against his neck condition. Nov. 29 - 3:42 pm et
IMO, the best coach on the roster right now - who can help bring Luck along the fastest (assuming they put legitimate time and effort into it) is Manning.

Hahahahahaha what a terrible plan that is. TRADING the best QB in league history? Yeah, that sound sounds good. Go ahead and do that, idiots.

Will Peyton ever play again? If he does return will he ever be 100% and play at that level for any extended period time. There is a lot unanswered questions and this is all speculation from Schefter. Only the Colts will know if he is worth keeping based on his health and age.

You guys are going to see a different side of Manning if the Colts draft Luck. He won't be the happy go aww shucks guy that everybody loves. He'll turn from face to heel just like Favre did when the Packers decided it was time for Rodgers to take over.

Manning has already said he'd be fine with the Colts drafting Luck and would understand it. Favre was blindsided by the Rodgers pick and hated it from day 1. Huge difference between the two.

Favre is an egotistical, dumbshit, moron. Don't compare the two in terms of attitude and personality every again please.

Manning said that publicly. Privately it was reported he would be hella pissed if they drafted Luck. Every NFL legend has a huge ego. Wait until Peyton's start getting stepped on as he enters the twilight of his career
