The idea of seeing Warner in a Niners jersey is growing on me. Which is weird, having rooted against him in both St. Loo and Arizona. And sorta when he was in New York. He's a serious upgrade over what SF has, so it would be a smart move in the regard. I'm leery of a long-term deal, though.
Warner done in the desert?

Free agent Kurt Warner boarded a flight headed to San Francisco on Monday, as expected.
The 49ers have enlisted a private jet to fly Warner and his family in. The Cardinals and Warner's representatives haven't spoken since Saturday. "Things are definitely progressing (with the 49ers)," his agent said. "He's going there to decide if that's the right fit." San Francisco will have to top Arizona's offer of $20 million over two years. Warner wants $29 million.
he's not going anywhere. Everyone will see just "how good he is" if he plays in San Fran. I said this before, he took over a LOADED Rams team with Faulk at the top of his game, Holt coming into his own, and Bruce. Goes to the JINTS and blows horse cock. Why? no WR or RB, tiki had like a fumble a game.
Goes to the desert and takes a job away from a Rookie. Yes hes an avg at best NFL QB. I could throw the ball to the Cards WR and I havent QB'd in 17 years. Its like coaching the Bulls with Jordan, Pippen, Paxson, Grant, and whatever guy they felt like throwing in at center for the year. Phil Jackson isnt a great coach either, he's always been in the perfect situation. We all see how he did when the stars left my bullsComment

Every day I log on, I expect to see either Arizona or Warner to cave. Just fucking offer him what he wants SF, so this misery can end.Last edited by Nukleopatra; 03-02-2009, 03:01 PM.Comment

My wrath? I fucking despise Arizona, and everything about that low class shitty organization. Do you honestly think I want them to give Warner what he wants? I'd rather see him sign with SF. Without Kurt Warner, Arizona will be lucky to win 6 games, and the fans will go back to bashing the hell out of the organization, the way it's supposed to be. Some things really shouldn't change, and this is one of them. If only Boldin will see this and also get the fuck out of dodge, leaving Fitz there to carry that broken down ship himself. We'll see how far he can carry it, without an MVP throwing him the ball.

Well I agree warner is worth what he is asking for another year, but... I'm ok with him moving on, I hope Matt has developed enough to be able to take this team to the playoffs, and if so we have a QB that hopefully we can keep for 10+ years...
No bashing warner on part...

Nice try Kurt, but everyone saw through your power play attempt with the 49ers an called your bluff. Actions like this only further your bluff and actually show you starting to roll over.
On Tuesday, Kurt Warner instructed his agent, Mark Bartelstein, to make a two-year, $23 million proposal to stay with the Cardinals. According to Bartelstein, Warner's proposal would include $12 million in guarantees, $6 million each season.
If the Cardinals play hardball, I bet they get Kurt for what they originally offered...or lower!Comment

Well, he did get them to go 3 mil higher.
At least this will piss Leinart off, maybe enough to demand a trade in the near future.
About the only positive thing that comes from this, at least for me.Comment

He asked them to go $3 mil higher, they have not accepted his counter offer yet.Comment

Ahh. Their 23mil offer has incentives.
Done deal, I'm sure. Even Arizona can't screw this up. Kurt also comes out looking like the good guy, by willing to play for less than what SF offered. Plus it pisses Leinart off.Comment
