The Packers kicked the Bears ass last night, no doubt. Although I would hope they would considering the Bears were without three of their best offensive players and a few on defense. But there was one glaring thing that stuck out about the game that has just proved a point I've been trying to make for the past few years. I didn't even realize how bad it was until Collinsworth mentioned it near the end of the game. The Packers were called for ZERO penalties. That's right, in the entire game not a single fucking penalty. Is this Madden? I know I for one saw at least ten obvious penalties for holding, clipping, PI, etc that weren't called. Why? Because apparently the Packers are the Michael Jordan of the NFL now. Now I'm not going to say that the Bears would've won the game if those penalties were called, but things definitely would've been different and the game would've been closer. There were at least five third down conversion by the Packers where Peppers, Idonije, Briggs etc had obviously been held, right in front of ref, but no call.

And it isn't just against the Bears. I've watched a good amount of Packers games thanks to Sunday ticket, and of course highlights, and consistently see penalties go uncalled for them. It's insane. Do they really need the help? Hell, does anyone remember the phantom holding call during a punt return TD by Knox (of course called back) during the Packers vs Bears first meeting of the season?

Edit: LOL. For those that don't remember it I just googled "phantom holding call punt return packers vs bears" and it showed right up.

Or the no-call on Woodsen in that same game where he clearly interfered with Hester which probably would've been a 90+ yard TD and would've tied the game up at 14?

I can't bring myself to say those words. Fuck that. We didn't need their help to make the playoffs at all.

                  :obama:

The holding on Graham occurred right after the punt.

                  It was the right call.

                  That has been covered.

Oh, my bad. I've actually watched the play dozens of times and never saw the hold. And this is the first mention I've heard of it. But I know you know what you're talking about.

But that still doesn't account for the countless other plays that I've seen the past few season that GB seems to get away with and other teams don't. Another example was from a few weeks ago. I was switching between games on the Ticket and someone got flagged for "taunting" and it was complete bullshit. The player barely looked at the other player and said anything. About and hour later I'm watching the Packers game and I see James Jones make a leaping catch over a defender. The defender ends up on his ass. Jones stands up, right over the dude and starts jawing in his face. I'm sure saying something along the lines of "King Kong ain't got shit on me bitch!" or something to that affect. No flag of course. And the Packers were the visiting team so it wasn't like they were getting some "home cooking".

But the craziest thing still seems to be last nights game. I honestly can't remember the last time I watched any NFL game where either of the teams didn't get penalized once. Especially when they had two of their starting offensive lineman out. Those backups didn't hold anyone, even once?

The Packers got raped by the refs last year against the Bears in Chicago on a couple calls late in the game that helped the Bears end up winning.

I watched the entire game last night and never once wondered WTF about any call or non call on the Packers.

You didn't see Peppers and Idonije getting held numerous times? One time Peppers nearly got pulled down when the lineman hooked the shit out of his left arm. Then there was a clear clipping on a GB punt return that was never called and they got great field position on the return. Then there was the facemask on Sanzebacher after the catch/non-catch (after the challenge) near the end of the game. Granted the play got called back after the challenge so it would've been a moot point. But on the field it was called a catch, and right after the catch the dude gets a good tug on Sanzebacher's mask but nothing.

Just a few plays that I remember.

I think if Adrian Peterson was healthy I would agree. But I think even the Bears can beat the Vikings.

meh. Facemask isn't challengeable call. They missed a grazing facemask penalty.

I didn't really care at that point as the outcome of the game was decided and it wasn't a huge no call.

Plus that facemask seemed more of the old incidental kind rather than the 15 yarder in existence now.

In the playoffs for the third year in the last four. Insane run of success for the franchise, but I could get used to it.
