Jeff Fisher's name has already been tossed out in just about every one of the five cities that currently has a head coaching vacancy.
And while Fisher's name has most prominently been linked to the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins after his helicopter entrance for an interview Tuesday, the former Tennessee Titans coach's name has surfaced in one locale where there isn't a head coaching vacancy - yet.
And that would be a place where he is certainly familiar with - the Indianapolis Colts, who fired vice president Bill Polian and his general manager son Chris on Monday, but for the time being retained beleaguered coach Jim Caldwell.
The Indianapolis Star speculates that the thought of Jim Irsay going after Fisher and allowing Fisher to help pick a GM is a possibility. Wherever Fisher lands, the GM is likely going to be sitting in the co-pilot's seat when it comes to the decision-making in Indy, St. Louis or whatever team he coaches.
Fisher also has a good relationship with Peyton Manning, and once even caught plenty of flak for wearing a Manning jersey and saying he "wanted to feel like a winner," to introduce former Colts coach Tony Dungy at a charity event, just two days after his 0-6 Titans were wiped out 59-0 in New England.
Fisher in Indy would certainly be interesting and it would put him back in the AFC South, where, of course, he has his most familiarity.
